Lovely hotel by the sea

Difficult to understand the rules etc of the swimming pool ie did we need to hire a dressing gown and if so where from.

Nice room and ensuite, food not very good With being elderly we had a very long walk to our room from main services. (108977414)

Staff very efficient on reception, despite arriving at busy time.

Service for dinner slow but staff very helpful Room was cold and heater did not appear to be working

Hotel was excellent

The translation into English of the brochures for the hotel and for notices around the hotel is apopalling; making no sense much of the time. Surely a hotel of your standing and with the experieince of Novotel could get good quality translations - by people whose first language is English.

Room very hot without air conditioning, No ventilation in bathroom or toilet. Lovely bar and terrace but drink far too expensive to actually sit and enjoy it 13 Euros for a lager and a bottle of coke shocking needless to say I only had one!!!

Very good disabled facilities

Bar closes at 9.30 and charges the earth for basic drinks. Breakfast closes at 10.00 (which when France is 1 hour ahead is 9.00 in our bodies) and costs 17 euros a head. For a big hotel both these facilities are empty and therefore unwelcoming as a result.

Staff couldn't find my online reservation initially - it was recorded using my forename as my family name, hotel exterior looking just as shabby as it did when I first started staying there at the age of 10 - classic example of 'don't judge a book by its cover'.

Hotel in lovely position right on the beach. Breakfast Room/Restaurant with superb views of the beach and sea. Very quiet hotel with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and a short walk into the main town centre. Room very comfortable and quiet, we had a room with balcony overlooking the beach. It was perfect for a relaxing weekend stay.

We can't think of one bad point.

Fantastic, despite the scary looking exterior, clearly internally updated and very smart, bar terrace is superb, food great in restaurant. I would come again, probably for longer next time. (108086732)

Scenery was fantastic, Bar and terrace great, food great, much better than expected when you see the 1970s concrete exterior, but right on the beach and a massive beach it is over 9 miles of silver sand.

Restaurant has a tendency to get hot due to huge windows in the sun, but on the upside what a nice view. No aircon in room though.
