A pleasant stay which helped to break up a long journey.

Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings / setting.

Requested a double room, given a twin room.

Hotel was as expected, a lovely country hotel and quiet and relaxing. Even though the hotel was completely full with a wedding and we were the only guests not attending the wedding this was not a problem at all and the hotel in no way made us feel less important. The table was set at breakfast for the two of us and all was very good. It was just a shame about the room being a twin but the hotel were very appologetic and I realise that it was not their fault but the fault of the website booking agent.

Lovely setting and grounds
Full English breakfast very good, also croissants very good.

I did not realise that my on line booking was for a double or a twin. This was not clear. I wanted a double but was left with the only available room which happened to be a twin.

Pleased overall.
If you're looking for a place that is definitely NOT on the main road this hotel is perfect. They had a wedding on the night we stayed there but it was not an inconvenience. The bar was still available to us. There is no mobile phone reception. Ideal if you're going skydiving from Dunkeswell Airfield - it's only about 10 minutes away.

Friendly and very professional service from staff.

bad tv reception (only itv1 reception worked properly)
leaking ceiling (could hear dripping onto ceiling constantly - suspect it might have been the water pipes because it was not raining) - the room was "the stables"

Very relaxing.

Friendly staff, Good food, very nice location.

Some rooms, especially those in the block separate from the main hotel building look tired and could do with modernisation / refurbishment, i.e provision of hairdriers, shaving points and a modern shower unit.

Interesting rooms, comfortable and different from the norm. Beatuful surrounding countryside.

Only the discovery, after a 4 hour journey, that meals are not offered on a Sunday evening. This is not clear from the information provided and we would have eaten on the way if known.

We enjoyed our stay at Fishponds House and would certainly stay again. The staff were friendly and helpful, the menu offered a good choice and the food was excellent and well presented.

Great location, easy to find, attentive staff, super food presented well. Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night as passing through Honiton on business but we would definitely stay there again.

Room small but it was a late booking as such and the facilities were perfectly adequate. Room also damp as it was away from hotel but sure its lovely in the summer.
