The Kings Hotel and Gary Rhodes Brasserie & Bar

Good position in the town, bright and airy room, lovely bathroom, comfortable bed with excellent 6 pillows and lovely bedding. Nice breakfast brought to the room on time.

Parking was a bit tricky and there was no information book in the room - hardly major "bad" points

Noise from road if windows left open, would have been hassle to park if we could not leave car oppisite hotel (limited free hotel parking)

We arrived late on the Thursday night and managed to park (got the last space). Reception were extremly helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast delivered to our room was a great touch (107145886)

Hotel in good location, beautiful decor in the rooms. Good brasserie as part of Gary Rhodes chain of restaurants however this needs to be booked separately.Complimentary Tea/Coffee/Water. Fridge in room as well as ironing board and iron and hair drier.

Room was very warm even though heating not on. Hate to think how hot it is in the summer.One ceiling light not working and i pod dock not working. No tray in shower to put shampoo or soap.

Lovely room, furnishings and bathroom. room was spotlessly clean. Had excellent meal in the restaurant, where service and food was superb, but wouldn't recommend for children

Water for shower and bath was 'luke-warm', even on hottest setting, advise thermostat is turned-up ~10 deg C. Parking is not great, albeit manageble for 1 night stay, would be awkward if staying longer

Clean, fresh and new. Electric cord for the fan suplied in the room is too short to enable the fan to sit comfortably on the window sill.

Parking situation opposite is chaotic and not controled for hotel guests. Staff on duty were incapable of remydying the situstion. Our car was trapped in the middle by others who had parked behind and in front. After half an hour of anguished angonising on what to do, your guest had to move three cars himself. Very troublesome and inappropriate, as there was nowhere nearby to move them to and if one of the cars had been in an accident, who would have been to blame? There is an urgent need to ensure that all cars parked there bleong to registered hotel guests only - not just casual diners or visitors to the bar or others who are not even using the hotel's facilities.

The hotel was a last minute booking and I got it through and agent in the local area. We didn't know what to except and were hugely impressed when we arrvied. The hotel was very slick and stylist, very contemporary without loosing the old feel of the hotel. A fantastic stay.
