Very nice hotel and staff

With the hotel I had no problem, the only problem was that they had NO RECORD of my booking with activehotels.com (did Active Hotels send one or didn't they recieve one?). When I arrived to check after 6.30 at night and had a confirmation email, ref number etc there was no record of a room booked for me. I was just lucky that they had room for my stay.

Helpful pleasant staff, excellent, well presented food. Daily attention to room, clean and comfortable. Good pub facilities

Lounge area could have been more welcoming, dark and a little dingy with poorly arranged seating. My elderly mother acompanied us and although she is generally independant she was unable to shower because of the lack of a grab rail. This sort of facility might be worth investing in since a high proportion of the British population will be increasingly aged.
