African Queen Hotel Boat

Made very welcome by Andy & Bonny who own the boat,dinner was excellent and very good food/value for money. Will definately stay when next in Reading area, was only 4 miles from my meeting the following morning (107660057)

When I first saw the African Queen on line, it looked querky and obviously very different from any other hotel, it did not disappoint. Very warm and cosy and like being at home, only on a boat hotel, excellent food

The welcome at the African Queen was extremely warm and friendly, and Andy was happy to help us with anything we needed. Our bedroom was very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We will definitely recommend the African Queen to our friends, and hope to visit again soon.

Unique hotel right on the Thames. Lovely landscape around. Check Mapledurham house. Quiet. A place to be. Andy the owner is great. And the whole thing is authentic. No aircondition, which is great, just fresh air above the water...The pub close by (Pack Saddle) is great - from there it is a 100% romantic walk down to the boat. England and Oxfordshire at its best there. I will come back. From Reading station out there a taxi is about 8 GBP - worth the trip if you have anything left for a real friendly, relaxing and clean atmoshere in the green hills of England.

We had a fabulous time, obviously this is a boat so accomodation is compact but clean and comfortable. (99787620)

Hotel Boat The African Queen is very unusual but very pleasing set in the most wonderful surroundings. The host is very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Food is plentyful and tasty.
