Location of hotel short bus ride to the city centre and 25 minute walk to Liverpool Football Club (or short bus ride)

Bed a bit hard in room we had and TV was above and behind bed not much good if you wanted to wacth anything

No lift in the part of the hotel we were in, and we were on the top floor. A bedside lamp had no wall socket or extension to plug it into (not clear why it was therefore provided!) Hotel situated in a very depressed area. More information on Liverpool could be provided in reception and room information

Very poor greeting on arrival - staff member opened door whilst still on phone, finished call and just said "name..?" Staff couldn't wait to get off duty and made it obvious. TV not easy to operate. The night staff in particular made a point of being approachable and made it clear that he would be willing to help with any issue, especially noisy residents if we wanted assistance which was great. Loved the breakfast, it was massive, quickly prepared and very delicious.

The hotel was great but the surrounding streets were a bit of a disappointment. The majority of houses were derelict and boarded up and walking around there was quite uncomfortable, I wondered how safe it was. My husband also commented about the hotel being in the middle of such a slum which wasn't what you would expect for what we paid.

The very helpful staff provided a welcoming and personal service and gave us good advice as to an area where we could find good restaurants. The room was clean and the bed & sheets comfortable. It was very quiet apart from the fire alarm going off at 1:00am. The breakfast was excellent.
