Not a nice place to stay.After driving a long way I only wanted one drink (107156654)

I checked in at 10.50pm went up to my room, when I came down bar person would not serve me a drink at 11.00pm. Others still drinking at bar.That is after she told me they would be closing at 11.15 Room very Dirty and cold.

I wasn't aware when I booked that the hotel would be used mainly by contractors therefore I didn't feel particularly comfortable going for breakfast on my own. For this reason I did not eat breakfast at the hotel. On my last night Thursday 24th July the fire alarm went off at about 9.30pm,the young lady in charge of the bar seemed out of her depth in dealing with this and whilst there did not appear to be any fire no fire brigade arrived to cehck the building out.For this reason I decided to gather my things together and my son and his girlfriend (who I was visiting) came to pick me up and I stayed the night on their couch. I informed the young lady that I was leaving and would be back in the morning to hand my key in, she insisted everything was fine and that the night porter was on his way to sort out the alarm but I do think it would have been more efficent for the fire service to have been called. When I returned the following morning I did intend speaking to someone about this but as they were busy with breakfast I just left my key in the key deposit box.

| am awaiting contact from the manager of the hotel as to our experience. We booked in for 4 nights and stayed one. This is a hotel for use by young people on a night out in whitley Bay, not a married couple having a trip of a lifetime in the UK. I AWAIT FURTHER contact, however I suggest you put a warning about the style of hotel and purpose. John Davey
