Fairly good.

extremely supportive staff. Got me a taxi & rang the taxi when I said I need it bit urgently.

There were lot of noise from the road (vehicles & people shouting) which disturbed my sleep. Floor has not been cleaned properly which was another minor point.

Except for the booking system this old and decreped was the pits and the organisation was a joke as i have stated in my review above. I would NOT even dream of stay in there again......In one word........DUMP......Steer clear.

My second nights stay my room had not been cleaned and NO new linen and towels and my shower head was broke plus no coffee. On arrival at 9am for my breakfast the 2nd morning NO cooked breakfast as the chef had decided to go home at 8-40am as he did not think anyone would be coming down for breakfast.

I chose the hotel on the basis of the comments about the staff in the reviews. Whilst the building is desperately in need of some TLC, the friendly staff more than compensated for that. They were wonderful.

I left a favourite cuddly toy in the hotel room accidentally. The hotel staff could not have been more polite or tolerant in the days that followed, even though they did not find the item. My mother located it 5 days later, 140 miles away in Pwhlleli, at the laundry used by the hotel.

Surroundings a bit jaded; frayed carpets & the whole place smelled of years of smoke.

On arriving in the area I was a little dubious. It is a bit of a run down surroundings. I had a very good suprise on entering and seeing my room. Everything was clean and everything worked. I had a very pleasent nights stay.

Group of 5 of us looked after very well during our stay - would definitely reccommend, especially for away fans travelling to Port Vale games!
(107548875)

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location for Port Vale Football Club. excellent value for money. Freshly cooked breakfast - none of this dried out buffet rubbish!

The hotel is a little tired and dated, but everything worked and it was very clean. Coupled with the room rate, this was not a problem.

OK, the room was comfortable, the breakfast, good, and the staff were good too.

Efficient, friendly staff, quiet location.

Too quiet for kids, 5 channel TV with indoor ariel only, The town Burslem where the hotel is situated seems like a ghost town with many derelict buildings, and only curry houses and pubs for alternatives to the hotel bar. I was under the impression that the hotel was situated in Stoke on Trent, but is actually in Burslem, this info plus directions for finding the place should be included on the website.

staff not friendly or helpful, will not choose to stay or visit the george hotel in future

Overall not a reasonably pleasant stay and I would come here again if I was in the area.
Saying that there were a couple of bad points that did detract from the stay.
(97555044)

Room was lovely, very big with a comfortable bed and a big bathroom with good facilities.
Hotel itself was very grand and nice. Bar had a friendly atmosphere with a quiz on the evvening I was staying there. Breakfast the next morning was very nice as well.

TV remote didn't work at first, but this was soon replaced. The signal was also very bad to the TV as there was only a small portable areial.
The staff generally were very nice and attentive, but did look a little perplexed and amused when I asked if I could have dinner in the bar rather than the deserted restaurant. As a lone traveller I didn't really want to sit and eat by myself in a big empty room. Dinner itself was also not quite up to my expectations given the price.
Area the hotel is in wasn't that nice either, but was close to where I had to be the next day.
