Very clean hotel polite staff Fantastic view in room

Slight lack of atmosphere. Disapointed with service around 11pm Friday when we couldn't get a coffee on return to the hotel, after a night out.

Very pleasant environment, attentive staff, well appointed room. Breakfast choices were excellent--french toast among the best in England. We ate one night in the dining room and found it OK (not a fan of their duck presentation but everything else was quite good). One night we had soup and scallop appetizers on the porch and it was perfect. It was quite delicious and just he right among of food for the two of us that evening. The staff made doing this easy.

Construction was going on and we could not open the external doors; as a result room became a somewhat stuffy at night. Construction was not noted when we made our hotel reservations The directions on the website were very poor. All it said was that to get to hotel go to Windermere. In fact you continue on the main route and turn left on Rayrigg Road. Directions need to be more explicit. There is too much traffic in this area to be wondering around.

We stayed in the cottage overlooking the garden. It was our 34th Wedding Anniversary and this just made our stay wonderful. The staff were courteous and extremely helpful. We had such a feeling of well being and will always treasure the memories of our weekend at the Miller Howe. (108054347)
