Much enjoyed - we will certainly stay again with this hotel when we're next in the area.

The helpfulness of the staff cannot be too highly praised. The food and it's presentation were of a higher standard than would be expected. The value for money was excellent and the menu choice and wine list were varied and impressive. The steam engine passing through brought back childhood memories.

Staff were all cheerful and gave excellent service.

The wardrobe in my friend's room contained many cobwebs.

Swan Inn is a bit of a Gem. Much better than most of the Hotels I have stayed at in & around Salisbury.

Guests who are irritated by road noises should be aware that the hotel is right on a fairly busy road. This did not worry us at all. We really enjoyed our stay, the food, the friendliness of the staff and the location.

The setting was beautiful. The grassy park and gorgeous River Wylie (spelling?) across the road, all part of the Inn, was very picturesque, with real swans gliding along the river. The view of the village spire and roofs through the trees was so peaceful and pretty.

Matthew, the manager, was an excellent host. He was businesslike, friendly and very helpful. He gave us perfect directions to Stonehenge, and packed a picnic breakfast for us when we had to leave early to go to Heathrow for a flight. The food in the restaurant was outstandingly good, excellent lamb, mashed potatoes, and bar-b-q wings! The beer was local and delicious. The staff were all very gracious. The rooms were handsome and bright, very clean, with a complete tea service and waters, both plain and carbonated, for the guests in each room.

The staff were friendly, courteous and willing to help. Our one small problem was speedily resolved. The menus are imaginative and breakfast was delicious (including a magnificent sausage - and this from someone who is not normally fond of sausages). We thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours sat in the river garden in the sunshine drinking glasses of wine. Some people might find the proximity to the road a bit noisy. Didn't worry us at all.

We had a very lous neighbour that kept us awake for most of the night and the bed in our room was tilted at an angle which made it difficult for us to get comfortable
