This White Hart hotel in Dorchester-on-Thames was excellent (food, staff, gorgeous place and inside), gorgeous!, for a good price. Even nicer than on pictures!

We had a fantastic time at the Cotswold Gateway Hotel. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was fantastic and enjoyed next to a roaring open fire. On arrival our room had a chilled bottle of wine and a basket with chocolates and fruit - this you would usually expect in a 5 star hotel and a wonderful touch. The local area is very pretty and the location of the hotel is in walking distance of shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend. (108245907)

Wonderful warm friendly staff nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic food, very comfortable room, a nice touch was a bottle of wine, fruit and chocs in our room on arrival. Really good menu and excellent food enjoyed next to a roaring open fire.

As we arrived early evening and had to dash out more or less straight away, were back late and then away straight after breakfast, we saw little other than the bedroom and breakfast room. However, we slept well, ate well and were dealt with excellently by the staff so the bits we experienced were a pleasure. (107398318)

Everything was clean and the staff were very efficient and friendly. It was relatively easy to find, not noisy for the location and the breakfast was nicely cooked.

Not really bad point as such, more areas to improve. The breakfast was lovely but more variety of fresh fruits and dried fruits would have been nice. The car park was very busy when we arrived and we struggled to get parked but not sure how this could be improved as additional space looked limiting!

love the 'non-snobbery' approach. All treated us well, which when you have childrend on tow, noses can become stuck up. On blanace though was eloquent and in keeping with the well refined area. the room was spacious and felt very laid back

For the most part the staff was very helful and nice.

When I checked out in the morning I recieved a note the prior evening stating my credit card was charged and that I had to do nothing, but in the morning a different atendent tried to recharge my credit card. I belive it was only charged once so there is no issues.They also do not have a 24 hour front desk person. It hindered my checkout since I had to pay a taxi a few extra pounds so I could recieve my receipt to claim on my buisness expense.

i booked my stay at this hotel online and although my confirmation was for the correct date (9th august), i was very surprised to receive a call from the hotel receptionist very late at night on the 9th july, asking me where i was and if i was planning on checking-in that night??!! i guess i should just be grateful that they did call so that i could inform them of their mistake and was also lucky that they still had a vacancy for my originally requested night in august!

The bathroom was really spacious and clean - double glazing window

The room itself was a bit small but for an overnight stay it is good enough. It is sometimes quite convenient to have a TV with incorporated DVDs. We had a very annoying plumbing noise thoughout the night.

This hotel is ideally situated and very easy to find - you don't need a map! The staff are very friendly, nothing seems too much trouble. The rooms are very nicely decorated and have recently been refurbished. The restaurant menu was quite extensive and the staff were very accomodating. We had a special dietary request and the chef was only too pleased to help! This hotel has a cosy, friendly feel to it without being intrusive. I would definitely recommend it to other travellers, especially couples but also families. (97702646)
