I was pleased with the comfort and covenience of the room, the bed and the large en-suite. The heating was very efficient too. The breakfast in the morning was excellent too, and very pleasingly presented. (97296061)

The decore was clean and the accomodation very roomy, with a lovely big bed, and I liked the wooden embellishment to the bathroom wall, - it made us remember we were in the stable block!

The only thing was the lighting - the warm low light created a pleasing ambience, but it would have been nice to have made it brighter at times.

we have no problems with the booking of the room, on arrival and throughout the stay we found the staff at the hotel helpful and friendly. The room was excellent, clean and of a very high standard. The service was excellent, having booked bed and breakfast the breakfast on offer was extensive and very well served. We had booked as we had a wedding in the area and they were really accomodating around our check in needs, when we called. Friendly staff on arrival, departure and in the restaurant for breakfast. A nice experience which enhanced our enjoyment of the wedding (97346234)

The rooms were recently refurbished, with modern bathroom fittings, but the room had old furniture and maintained character. The bed was a huge sleigh bed - lovely!

The stairs were quite steep going up to the room, but I guess this due to the age of the building. The carpet in the entrance lobby would be better placed with hard flooring as this was the only part of the hotel that looked dated and it's their first impression

Overall an excellent place to stay. Bed was comfortable, room bright and well sized, bathroom spic 'n' span and everything you need. Food was excellent: good selection, well presented, fresh, tasty and the right price. Wine too. Service was just that right balance between formality and friendliness. The only comment we have is we wished the resturant had been opened for food in the evening when we arrived on the Sunday. We were tired from our journey from Edinburgh and would have just liked to have had our dinner in the hotel and then chilled out in the bar.

The hotel was fine. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. In particular the young lady who appeared to be running the show was a complete gem and should be rewarded by her employers. Not only did she run reception, she managed the dining room and also served customers with a winning smile and disarming charm and confidence. (99050562)

I would say that it was good value for money on the deal we booked (half price)but I would have been quite disapointed if we had paid full price for the room. The price of the drinks -

A lovely old 17th century coaching inn that manages to combine old world charm with rooms that contain considerably more in the way of upmarket modern conveniences than you might expect (flat screen TV, Molton Brown toiletries and plenty of them, a huge extremely comfortable bed etc). Our room looked recently refurbished and was as clean as a whistle. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. (3305018693)

We were not informed that the hotel would not be able to supply even a sandwich on our arrival Sunday evening - after a long journey we really didnt want to have to go out and find somewhere to eat. Had we known how noisey our room would be and that no food was available on Sundays we would not have chosen this hotel. Also it was not very good room cleaning service - the bed appeared to be re made each day but on pulling back the covers the under sheet was completely untouched and as rumpled as it had been when we got up in the morning! Also one of the individual milks that we put in a cup of coffee was rancid! (3304857991)

The food was very good and waitress and bar staff were excellent.

The room was very small and extremely hot but if you opened the windows it was impossible to hear the television or hold a conversation due to the traffic noise that started at about 5 in the morning and didnt stop until the early hourse the following morning!

I would happily recommend this hotel for good quality comfortable accommodation. Although we were at a nearby wedding so did not eat a main meal at the hotel, the sandwiches and breakfast were excellent. Staff are friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. (3304902884)

We had a Boutique room which had an excellent atmosphere, it was quite refreshing to stay somewhere which had obviously had a lot of thought invested in the design.
