A very well situated hotel in Amboise. All members of the hotel were all very helpful and rooms & bathrooms extremely clean and nicely laid out. Easy parking. Very neat modern bathrooms. Easy walk to town centre. A very good breakfast.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. I very much recommend it to anyone wanting luxury but also personal, friendly surroundings. The building has great histocial character yet the rooms have all modern facilities and are very luxurious with bathrooms to die for. The hotel has understated elegance, but no snobbery attached. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, utilising only the very best ingredients and served in an elegant dining room with quality linen and relaxing surroundings. We met a fascinating building, excellent service and a room with classical style but modern and clean facilities such as bathroom, air condition etc. To enter the hotel from busy traffic on a hot summer day was soothing; calm, quiet garden with pool and a cool room to rest in. (3305052730)

Excellent security. The room met our needs of traveling with a 10 and 13 year old. The location is within walking distance of anything you want to see in town and an easy drive to surrounding areas.

Located in the beautiful town of Amboise, this small hotel is perfect for a few days getaway. The hotel has its own private walled grounds complete with pool. The rooms were spacious, even by U.S. standards. Despite the fact that we arrived several hours late (yes we were embarrased), the staff was extremely gracious and helpful. The staff all spoke good English if that is an issue for the traveler. Perfect location about three blocks from the chateau. Recommended highly. (3304497737)

Booked this hotel for two nights for our 10-day tour of Northern France. My wife, adult daughter and I stayed in a suite opening up to the rear of the building; very quiet! No surprises with this beautifully restored historic building. In the Parlor, they keep a photo album of the restoration of the hotel done a few years ago, and the owners did a marvelous job! The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. The optional breakfast was great and served in a beautiful dining room. Park onsite and take an easy walk to shopping, restaurants and the Amboise Chateau. Being in the heart of the Loire Valley, other attractions are a short driving distance. After cramped accommodation in Paris, this place was heavenly. The huge modern bathroom, with great toiletries and thick terrycloth robes, beckoned me to soak in the tub everynight. although excellent in most respects, the bathrooms needed the simple addition of soap dishes, a hand rail for assisting exit from bath and a shaving/make up light. Our bedroom needed a mirror and the hotel will benefit from being licensed to serve alcohol. (There was a mini-bar in the room but only for soft drinks.) This is a charming and beautifully run small hotel with delightfully chosen period furnishings and decor. It is ideally suited to short stay visits providing a cosy sanctuary for the exploring traveller of the region. (3304768393)

We loved so many things about Le Manoir Saint Thomas- the beauty of both the interior and exterior of the hotel, the charm and plush comfort of our lovely suite, the location of the hotel (close to the center of Amboise), the enchanting private garden, the sense of warmth and privacy, the kindness of the staff, the wonderful windows of our suite which opened onto the garden filled with birdsong! What a delightful stay we had!

Although it was a little difficult to find, even with a map and directions, it was in a good location, within 5 minutes walk of downtown Amboise and the Chateau. We were there during a cold spell in France, and the room was difficult to keep warm. But it was beautiful. Immaculate and very pretty bathroom with towel heaters and big tub. This was the most fabulous place we stayed during our 2 week trip to England and France!! The young couple who own the hotel were SO helpful and enthusiastic. What a great place to stay - only wish we could have stayed longer.

It would be nice if there could be a reduction in price if one stayed longer. We would definitely return (even go out of our way) to stay here again though.
