We enjoyed our stay, except the problems with the bed on the first night. Not in an ideal location for enjoying Limerick nightlife. Described as "a stroll" in the hotel publicity, it's a good 3km into town, mainly along busy dual carriageway.
(107816491)

Friendly staff (especially in the breakfast room)could not do more to help. Immediate change of room when problems below were reported next morning.
Spacious room for the price and excellent shower and full bath

Checked in just before midnight. Found that we had an incredibly noisy toilet and a king size mattress on a double bed!
Hotel generally looks a little tired.
As the hotel is out of town, early closure of the bar was not appreciated.
Shane from Dublin, IE (Other) 22 September 2008
We have stayed at this hotel (and other DG Hotels) previously and had planned to do so again, however there are some worrying safety issues they need to address and until that time comes we will not use this premises.

It was fine.
(97953558)

Staff was friendly and helpful.
Room was fine. Bathroom was fine.
Location was good for our purposes.
Breakfast was good.

The larger rooms were, apparently, all smoking rooms. I find that to be puzzling. Why are there not some smoking and some non-smoking? Apparently, the only non-smoking rooms were the ones with single beds. Perhaps it's not the hotel's fault that this was not clear; perhaps it was Travelocity's fault. But we thought we were reserving two large rooms and both non-smoking. Since I'm married to a non-smoker, this wasn't a problem for me. But two people in the group have breathing problems; it was a real problem for them.

Overall state of hotel, friendliness of staff especialy the friendliness and helpfulness of those in the breakfast room.

We wondered why the hotel itself could provide a full resuraunt service? If it was anything like the breakfast, it would be excellent. The restaurant next door was less than impressive!
Lyn from Leeds, GB (Family with older children) 22 March 2008
The hotel staff, and the staff at the on site pub(Thady O'Neils)were very pleasant.
The Breakfast was nice and filling and the staff couldnt do enough for us,one lady in particular kept bringing us more bacon, eggs etc even though we hadnt asked for anymore. The meals in Thady's were also very good, generous portions.but this closes at 10pm
we travelled with our daughter and son in Law and our room was spacious clean and quiet. My daughters room however was dated, small, and had pipes that banged most of the night, keeping them awake, but they didnt complain as we were only there for 3 nights.
the bar was disapointing as it closes at 11.30 pm and there is nowhere else to go as the hotel is too far out.The lady in the bar was very pleasant and made us feel welcome.
Overall for the price we paid at this hotel we were satisfied with our stay.
I would recommend this hotel but only if the person had hired a car,as there is nothing else around in either direction

This was the second time I've stayed here and will stay there again for sure, it's easy to get to Shannon Airport from the hotel, there's even a bus stop right outside there.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

The hotel overall was probably very popular a few years ago, but now looks much to large for the number of guests it appears to cater for.It had a boutique in the foyer, but looked like it had not been open for a long while. A large screen T.V. was also in the foyer, but it was badly tuned and was a very bad picture.
The hotel was advertised as a GREAT WESTERN hotel, but the only Great Western logo in evidence, was on the litter bins at the entrance to the hotel. The room was O.K. but the public areas smelt musty and were mostly unused.

Nice dining room for breakfast with good selection from buffet.

Dinner & nightlife was in the pub/restaurant next to the hotel. This facility was very dark with outdated themed decor. It seemed very popular with locals at weekends, and was very busy, but it did not reflect the atmosphere of the main hotel. The staff were O.K. but were not very welcoming to strangers.

There was nothing out of the ordinary to like about it.

Ground floor bedroom, so felt that i had to keep the window closed unless i was in the bedroom as there was no security lock on it. The room could do with a revamp.

The room was disappointing because of the smoking factor. However the staff in the restuarant and the breakfast were all excellent. Also the Bar service was good and the food was good.

Room was in a very acessible location

We had specificly asked for a non smoking room and this one had clearly been used by a smoker.
