I specifically requested parking and was not informed that there was none befare I booked. Parking cost me an additional €16. Bar staff was unattentive and couldn't wait to get us out from about 10:45. The shower was far too small and there was no hot water in the hand basin. Apart from the above it was okay. More suitable to a younger person. (3304219665)

positive comments Nice central location. One very good meal in the bar.
negative comments LOwer the volume of the music. More attentive Bar staff. Parking.

I would liked to have known that parking was a problem. The lack of bar facilities or mini-bar was a drawback. (3304091188)

positive comments It was clean and comfortable. the breakfast was a bit too small. The noise from disco was intrusive. The lack of parking was a problem.
negative comments The breakfast area should be bigger to allow more than two to dine together. There should be an arrangement with next door parking facility to give discount parking. Jurys Inn Galway have such an arrangement.

Old Quarter Lodge is well situated in the centre of Limerick, the rooms are small but adequate. The hotel represents excellent value for money and is a great base for a weekend on the town. The only drawback is there is a great deal of noise from nearby pubs and clubs which goes on until the early hours of the morning. Personally I din't find this a problem although I could see how others would. (2577029)

positive comments Price and location
negative comments Mention the noisy nightclub downstairs

ALTHOUGH ACCOMADATION WAS GOOD IT SHOULD BE NOTED WHEN BOOKING THAT NO CAR PARKING IS AVAILABLE TO THE HOTEL. ALTHOUGH NOT A MAJOR PROBLEM IT WAS IN CONVENIENT PARKING IN A PUBLIC CAR PARK OVER NIGHT (2735621)

positive comments WARM AND COMFORTABLE
negative comments BREAKFAST WAITRESS COULD HAVE A PERSONALITY MAKEOVER

A very good location if you enjoy late nights and lively night life of Limerick but would not recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend break a less cental location may be better suited. (2262891)

positive comments Central location good facilities and good night life, near shopping and resteraunts.
negative comments Rooms were of a good standard however bigger showers would improve the rooms greatly.

I found this hotel to be great and staff were very informative and friendly. Beacause this was an overnight stay I did not really get a chance to settle in. Never the less it was a great experience and i may retyrn again. (2699427)

positive comments Very close to the heart of the city.

After exploring Ireland for a week I found Limerick City very intimidating although it is a good base to explore the surrounding areas. The hotel itself was very reasonably priced and the service was excellent. (2490817)

positive comments Good central location
negative comments Noisy at night so make sure you have a few beverages before sleeping, which I did

This is a central hotel - the hotel has a bar on the ground floor and there are pubs opposite that on a Friday and Saturday night open past 12am and are quite noisey. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay at the weekend this may not be your best choice. But the staff were friendly and the rooms were very comfortable. Limerick is great lively town and well worth visiting and at EUR65 per night this hotel is not a bad choice. (2609705)

positive comments Very central, comfy rooms, huge cooked breakfast and helpful reception desk staff

Might be a good place to stay in winter when the windows would be closed tight and pub drinkers would be inside. But it should be avoided in the summer when windows need to be open. Most of the rooms look out upon a pub's large outdoor patio where revelers produce enough noise to keep the sedated awake. When the pub closes, workers slam tables and chairs around for another hour. After that, wandering club goers (there are several clubs nearby) serenade hotel guests until almost dawn. If you want to sleep, book another hotel. (2267437)

positive comments convenient in-town location
negative comments noise abatement. Air conditioning would allow guests to keep the windows closed

We didn't realize the pub down stairs was so loud. If it would have been tradutional Irish music we wouldn't have minded, but it was horrible rap and rock. The walls actually vibrated. Other than that it would have been all good. (2429157)

positive comments It was convenient to town and pleasant.
negative comments Noise.

The hotel was clean and very cental, ideal if your going on a wild weekend of non-stop partying. However for a quiet weekend you may wish to try somewhere else. The noise from the bar downstairs is a bit excessive, and the hoards of drunken holiday makers have taken their toll on the rooms. Parking was available but you have to pay for a car park (not open Sundays, so can't use them overnight on saturday) or use on street parking which is only available on an evening and can be risky due to the proximaty of local bars. All this said though, we had a lovely time and think for how cheap the accomodation is there is no room to complain. (2274089)

positive comments the accomodation was very central and very reasonably priced for its location
negative comments it could do with decorating,as it is getting a little bit tatty.

THE HOTEL IS VERY LOCAL, AND EXCELLENTLY PRICED. THE BREAKFASTS ARE NICE AND THE SERVICE IS GREAT. BUT, DUE TO THE VERY LOUD MUSIC BELOW, THIS PLACE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR A RELAXING BREAK. THE MUSIC IS ON FROM 10PM UNTIL 11:30 EVERY NIGHT, AND 12:30 AT WEEKENDS, AND THEN YOU'LL BE WOKEN BY THE CLUBS KICKING OUT AT 2AM. IF YOU DON'T WANT THIS, DEMAND A ROOM ON THE SECOND FLOOR AT THE REAR. THE STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL, AND AFTER OUR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE NOISE, THEY DID MOVE US INTO A DIFFERENT ROOM AT THE REAR OF THE HOTEL, THIS WAS IN NO WAY QUIET, BUT MUCH QUIETER THAN THE PREVIOUS NIGHT BE WARNED.... (2333868)

positive comments VERY LOCAL TO ALL LIMERICK HAS TO OFFER, PLENTY OF RESTAURANTS AROUND THE HOTEL FOR ALL TASTES AND BUDGETS
negative comments THIS IS A VERY NOISY HOTEL, AS THERE IS A LIVE DJ EVERY NIGHT RIGHT BELOW THE HOTEL. BE WARNED.... IF YOU WANT NO SLEEP
