A different experience staying in an old property with lots of character. Very friendly and helpful owner. A beautiful but isolated location.

Nobody at home when we arrived despite arriving at the time advised.

I'll ise Mercure or similar next time - at least they know what a bed is!

Terrible beds - the prime purpose of a hotel is to provide a good night's sleep. This one failed miserably!

Would reccommed it to our friends and family, and be delighted if we could stay here again.

Madame was very welcoming and the feel of the house was just wonderful - it has a wonderful feel as it is furnished very tastefully. The meals were just what we wanted, french home cooking at its best, with nothing left wanting!

Despite it being a bit of a challenge to find, I received a very warm welcome, had a lovely comfortable room and delicious vegetarian dinner which was just what I needed after a long 10 hour journey.

Il manque tout ce qu'on attend d'un hôtel, même le minimum: pas de TV , pas de téléphone - le portable ne passe pas.
Dîner enfumé. Température limite.

Beautiful location and a charming chateau full of character. Incredibly quiet and peaceful. Homely and informal.

Towels were small and not changed during our 5 day stay, nor was the bedlinen. The mattresses were poor.

Easy to find amongst some beautiful French countryside. The owners could not have been more charming and helpful. The place itself was reminiscent of National Trust buildings bin Britain. Plenty to do in the area, including some great walking.

Superb hospitality, a real hands on approach from english speaking owners, lovely people. Great place, lots of history, very good locally produced food served in restaurant. Good pool and jacuzzi, quad bikes, hot air baloons all on site and horse riding right next door. We will definitely be going there again!

Very Typically French i.e not a chain hotel.

A very minor point but hotel only had hand held showers in the bath rather than the real thing.

Great chateaux in a lovely area, although the weather was poor (March 2006), there was still lots to do and places to visit in the area. Nice indoor swimming pool but closed in Winter. Great fishing and walks close by.Not many places to eat in the area but this was not a problem as the food in the hotelwas excellent.

Beautiful house in countryside with access to charming little villages and small towns. Great walking area. Loads of activities including riding and quad bikes and also very relaxing just to sit by open fire and drink wine. Check for food as decent local restaurant closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Atmosphere, decor, location, charming hostess,

Immaculately clean but slighty shabby bed linen.

the hotel was in a superp location, surrounded by woodland and country lanes, near to a large lake with numerous out door activities on its doorstep.the english speaking owners made us very welcome, but do try to speak some french, how ever poor,it is appreciated. the staff are very good and most welcoming, the accomadation, facilities food and drink were good,we had a very nice stay and hope to return in the future.

the hotel is in a superp location, owners were very welcoming,as were the staff, even though our french language is very limited,(owner does speak english ). the accomadation ,facilities and food were good.

every thing was to our satisfaction,we were made very welcome.

That the hotel did not offer refreshments after breakfast. That it only had a set menue for evening meal if chosen. Also they did not accept credit card transactions. This was not clear when booked through the booking agency. They do offer hot air balloon rides, quad bikes and hire of bicycles. Also lessons in the pool. The meals are very good. The lounge area very nice to relax in. The hotel is very near a very beautifull lake area with some very nice hamlets/villages. Very good walks offered.
(2835636)

The staff were very good, helpfull and kind. The pool was nice. The view from the hotel and the setting very peacfull.

A choice of menue. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The opportunity for afternoon tea also a bar to use in the evening.
Glen from London, United Kingdom;GB (Group of adult friends) 17 August 2005
All of the staff at the chateau were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were simple but fresh and very nice.
All of the rooms were large but there was an air of decline about the furnishings and the beds were not hugely comfortable. The bathrooms were adaequate. Whilst these points are negative, one has to consider that the rates are very reasonable and the property provides a good alternative to chain hotels and other hotels in the area.
(2441187)

The chateau was set in beautiful grounds and all of the rooms were of a very good size - quite large and airy.

The general cleanliness at the property could be improved as could the quality of the mattresses on the beds.

Brilliantly situated for overnight stops , but so peaceful you will want to stay longer. Only comment for British visitors is that there are no tea and coffee facilities in room, which is normal in France but not in Britain. The owners are lovely people, very friendly and helpful. Did everything to make us feel welcome and relaxed after a long day travelling. Will definately return. Booking service was totally faultless.

Charming chateau, beautiful location, ideally located for overnight stop enroute to southwest France and Spain. Relaxing experience.
