our stay was good our only regret was we couldn't have breakfast at the hotel as I had an activity day booked at the Three Sisters race track at 8.15 in the morning

It says on your website that all rooms have an uninterupted country view (No they don't) most of them have my girlfrinds room (Room No 6) had a direct view of the building accross from her. Cleanliness. The top off the wardrobe was dusty in my room.

What a hotel!! A gem with excellent transport links to the M6. Superb staff who could not do enough for us, even though they had a really late night with a very large function the previous night.

We would definitely recommend this hotel as the staff were excellent, breakfast was huge for a fiver and very nice, and being a Free House there was a great selection of beverages from foreign lagers and beers to real ales. Nice location away from residential area and near to lakes making for a lovely walk the next day.
(97255785)

The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Being a Free House, there was an excellent choice of interesting beer

Nothing to dislike

Generally very pleasent and friendly if a little basic. Please lower the wall mounted tv brackets, they are way too high and made watching tv uncomfortable.

We expected to have a small room in a pub and was pleasantly surprised at the size quality and amenities in our room.
Evening meal and breakfast very good.
Customer Service was of a very high standard.
(99709279)

The room was very spacious comfortable and most important very clean.

We were welcomed really nicely and we loved the evening meal.
Breakfast seemed to have spent too long in the microwave.
We were not asked whether we had enjoyed our stay.
On the whole we did, and thought it was good value for money.
(99899461)

Good choice of decoration and furnishings.

Paint peeling off bathroom ceiling. Shower cubicle shabby. Lighting inadequate.
Harry from Maidstone, GB (Group of work colleagues) 21 May 2007
Fairly unprepossessing exterior but once inside very pleasant indeed with the predominent feature being the really excellent food.

I very nice bar & restaurant! The food is excellent and the range of beer/ ales is excellent too! Together with friendly helpful staff it is a pleasant change to chain hotel accomodation! You feel like you are a guest rather than a room number!!! I have already recomended the hotel to a number of my collegues.

The staff & hotel room was nice

It was very noisey whilst trying to get to sleep and i woke up shivering as my room was freezing. The central heating cooled down to low and with only having white linen sheets and a satin throw i had to out more layers on whilst in bed!
Anonymous (Young couple) 14 March 2007
We weren't prepared for the noisy entertainment and punters both nights we stayed but we managed to get to sleep in the end!
An enjoyable stay overall - far better than we expected.

Lovely views and a very nice inn with character.

The breakfast was very slow service and there was only one jug of milk and orange juice to go around for everyone.

Diana from Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 19 February 2007
The hotel is well located in beautiful countryside with a large carpark. It is very clean and welcoming. The restaturant has very good food, all freshly cooked and delicious. The bar is well stocked and has real ales. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bedroom we had was very clean and pleasant, with a welcome tray. It is an ideal hotel from which to tour the area.

Location cleanliness quality of food helpful staff

We had to ask for the heating to be put on in our room as it was very chilly. The bathroom needed some hooks and a bin
Anonymous (Solo business traveller) 26 January 2007

David from Beverley, United Kingdom;GB (Young couple) 25 January 2007
The room was basic, no fancy frills and the bed a little uncomfortable. However, given the prices charged, the hotel was excellent value for money. The food was good and again, good value. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

clean, tidy and good value for money.

there had been a power cut the previous day, which had affected the heating, but this was rectified as soon as it was pointed out.

Good value for money if evening comforts were not the priority. Pre information should have stated that there was no bath only shower. The room was warm and appeared clean.
The vast menu, with additional festive foods, offered great choice but such a range of alternatives does not mean fresh homemade meals. I choose grills!!
(99235024)

Good beer and food. Bed was firm and comfortable.

Room fairly basic having, for example only one upright chair and a shower that needed renewing. No toilet cleaning facilities.
