We reason we chose to stay at the Rennie Mackintosh Hotel is because I am a big fan of his. I was very disappointed to see that there was not a real Mackintosh theme to the hotel. But it was clean and comfortable and ideally located. The breakfast was also a good size and you had choice. (99717655)

positive comments The location, the breakfast
negative comments Lack of rennie mackintosh influence, early check out but they did not chase us out as we were a bit late checking out
Excellent

The Rennie Mackintosh Hotel is very centrally placed, only a few minutes' walk from rail or bus stations and very handy for good restaurants. Yet it is quiet and restful. The welcome was very warm and friendly but also organised. The room, though small, was adequate and clean and the bed was comfortable. Not much choice if you didn't want a Scottish breakfast. positive comments Friendly, central, quiet, clean, comfortable bed, no fuss, good value
negative comments room was on the cramped side, breakfast choice a bit limited

Ideal for location.nice and clean white bed sheets.breakfast was very nice(although the dining room was like an oven, saying that,I was sitting next to a radiator, lol). Can't really fault this hotel, good value for money.Oh wait, the tv in our room had no remote and we couldn't watch it without one, told the guy at reception and he came up and had a look for himself then said sorry about that and left!!,weren't planning to watch much tv anyway but thats beside the point.I would book into here again and probably will do next works xmas night out!. The friendliness and helpfullness of the staff made up for the inadequasies of the room. The price of the room was low so perhaps one should not expect The Ritz, however one should be able to expect that things work and will not fall apart in use. The location was extrememely convenient for us, which was also a compensating factor. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found the beds comfortable and the breakfast generous and well prepared which, I suppose, is what a B&B hotel should do best. (2728066)

positive comments The location, the beds, the breakfast and the staff.
negative comments The furniture and fixtures in the room were of the lowest quality. The TV and radio did not work and had to be replaced. Curtains were falling down and the wardrobe hanging rail collapsed. The bathroom ventilation fan sounded like a jet engine, which meant the overhead light could not be used while the bathroom was in use.
