Good......

Location and acces to the city centre, very close.

Parking, YOU PAY, Breakfast, YOU PAY, Internet, YOU PAY, to receive a fax, YOU PAY - Please remember when you pay £69 for a room in reality it becomes £98 a big difence I feel.
But other than the above a great place to stay

Travelling with the car, a generous discount at the NCP car park under hotel. The House service was very good our requests for extra towels etc.. promptly attended to. Reception extremely helpful and attentive provided us with good directions, town plans and suggestions. Restaurant good service good food although menu limited.
A very pleasant place to stay, hassle free.

The staff were very helpful. The hotel was spotless.

I thought the location of the hotel was very poor. It was very hard to entre the hotels main entrance because of the busy road.
Kate from Grays, United Kingdom;GB (Young couple) 24 October 2006
Lovely clean room and hotel. Easy to find, just follow the A33 and the Hotel is in the middle of a roundabout. Even with its position traffic noise is very slight even with the windows open.
Car park is difficult to find. It is directly under the Hotel but the entrance is off of a back street. (not sign posted)

Breakfast was dreadful and cost

The staff were professional, courteous and accommodating - I phoned the night before to check that there would be a cot in the room and to arrange an earlier check-in time. When I arrived, a little earlier than arranged, the room was ready and the person that I had spoken to on the phone was actually there and reassured us that she had checked everything herself that morning. Excellent service.
The size of the room was great, much bigger than I expected. My toddler was excited to have a good-sized sofa bed and there was room for a cot for the baby with plenty left for them to crawl/tumble around in. The largest room we've had for a long time.
On the downside, there's no room service, which meant we had to take it in turns to go down for a bar snack/watch the sleeping children. In addition, the lift from the car park beneath the hotel rises in the courtyard behind the hotel where there is no entrance - you have to walk around to the front and, unfortunately for us, this was always in the rain.
Ordering online meant that we could only book room, not B&B and this worked out expensive and inconvenient. I don't know if we could have changed this at check-in.

near the parks

the front desk girls were very unfriendly ~annoyed at my US accent. I was in the UK for 6 weeks to work and would not recommend this hotel just because of the very cold reception at the desk.

Restaurant was very busy one evening and we did not realise that one should book a table even if resident in the hotel.

Very comfortable room in good central position. Welcoming reception area. Reception staff pleasant and helpful.

The service at breakfast was absolutely hopeless. Nothing was topped up - had to ask for plates, cutlery, long wait for fresh eggs from kitchen, no toast available, fruit juice from concentrate and machine just putting out coloured water, poor selection, etc, etc, etc. Staff milling around unsupervised and not doing very much.
Roger from Leeds, United Kingdom;GB (Same sex couple) 29 March 2006
The hotel is located in the centre of a roundabout in the city centre with major roads leading on and off. The access to and from the hotel is via 1 pedestrian crossing, this is inconvenient as you have to walk towards the rear of the hotel to cross the roundabout, and then have to navigate through various pedestrian crossings over the major roads to get back around to the front of the hotel to get into the city centre. It is possible to cross the road in front of the hotel but I do not recommend this, as previously mentioned it is a major roundabout in Southampton and can be very dangerous at any time of day.
