Scarborough Hill Country Househotel

As I was on business I hadn't much of a chance to really enjoy the hotel, but I'd recommend it to others. (107864569)

I would like tohave see better views of the hotel and rooms on the internet. The hotel is in a lovely quiet location, friendly and efficient staff, food is absolutely delicious, piping hot and cooked well. We were made to feel very special, even our 10 year old. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was wonderful, large and fantastic steps up to the bath!!!!!

The decoration was a little bit out of date!!

Peeling wallpaper, cobwebs, room dusty and tired. Clothes left in wardrobe from previous occupants

As this visit was our 28th wedding anniversity we booked a meal with my family at a nearby Hotel. If there had been more information about the excellent food at your Hotel, then we would have eaten there. (99777700)

We were offered a superior suite of rooms which we found excellent. The food was excemptional

In oue suitr, the Nelson suite, the shower was not fully functional,ie the pressure was weak.

The small guesthouse/hotel is in a quiet and peaceful location just outside the local town. The place itself felt homely although the bedrooms are in need of refurbishment but is an affordable place to stay if you wish to use this as a base. Ideal accommodation for people on a budget with no frills attached. (99325367)

It was quiet and peaceful. The English Breakfast was nice.

The interior of the bedrooms need refurbishing and painting. The shower did not work properly, the bath was broken slightly so they tried to mend with Cellotape. They had no fire doors on the bedrooms. The staff seemed friendly, however, they seemed very unorganised.

tatty room

Generally we had an enjoyable stay. Service varied depending on which staff served you. Breakfast service on the second morning was extremely poor. Meal in conservatory restuarant was good value for money. The manager was very helpful and friendly. (3305153637)

Position of room overlooking garden and drive.

The room was looking very worn, wallpaper was peeling in places.

The hotel is set in extensive grounds, -a delightful setting and very peaceful. It is very much a country hotel, somewhat quaint, based seemingly on a fine country house.The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was that the main course of the meal was not as hot as it should have been, which was disappointing. (3305107608)

The public areas of the hotel, and the grounds, are delightful; you can really feel that you are in a small country club. The restaurant is also good and reasonable value for money, and most welcome given the paucity of other dining opportunities locally. But the bedroom was very tired, and the bathroom tatty. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made every effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The room was nice and clean, with a nice comfy bed and everything we needed. A very good bar and restaurant with a comfortable seating area. Definitely a place to visit again.A1

Details and photos of room on website may well have influenced choice but for a 2 night stay in such a relatively remote area is perhaps more or less what we expected. (2825129)
