With one small window the room was dark. Fortunately the weather was cool and we did not need to open the window as there was a note on the small opening section of window which stated that they had run out of window keys as so many had broken off! To say the least this hotel needs a great deal of work to bring it up to an acceptable standard!

Not a great deal! The towels and bedding were clean and the breakfasts were adequate.

It was run-down and the Hotel in general was neglected and needed a good scrub! This hotel needs a great deal of work, paint and money spending on it to bring it back to a reasonable standard and is certainly not Three Star AA and RAC standard and I can only assume that neither organisation have seen it for some years. It was in a quiet area but it would seem that the locals have become used to using the internal hotel courtyard as a rat-run between the roads which run on each side and regularly drive-through in the rush hour to avoid going into town turning right then right again in order to get from one road to the other! One of the two entrances needs to be closed.

Staff were very courteous. Food satisfactory. We only needed a one night stay and found booking on line easy. Would return if occassion arose.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel/bedroom was very clean. I liked the fact the receptionist showed us to our room. The whole stay was very comfortable and i would definately stay again if i visit Yorkshire.

First room was dreadful, by third day, after not having a wash and finding a hair in otherwise very good food we complained and to be fair, staff were very helpful in relocating us into another room that better fitted online description. On the whole, first two nights miserable, an absolute rip off, last 2 were as per description on line.

Friendly staff, good value, rural location close to Scarborough town.

Some of the decoration is a little 'tired'.

A really nice hotel to stay in so long as you you dont mind having to drive most places, (scarborough only 8 mins in car). Premium room was very nice with everything you need. Food was excellent although a little expensive. All in all a nice hotel of a standard i would have expected to pay more for. Would certainly recomend.

Nice setting with plenty of parking. Food and drink was great. Good sized room which was clean and well equipped, bathroom was nice, clean and modern.

No real complaints about the hotel and it by far exceded our expectations having read some reviews.
(2695947)

The hotel grounds, the location, the restaurant, the friendliness of the staff and the size of the family room (one large room with a double and a single bed plus a seperate room with a single bed).

The decor of some of the rooms could do with some updating. The musical bed (squeaky springs). The noise insulation, our room was situated above the bar.

Quiet location plenty of parking space, Excellent breakfast, but fresh mushrooms would have been nice. Plenty of choice and as much as one could eat, food hot, staff pleasant

Bar meal dissappointing, could use fresh food instead of oven chips, coleslaw horrible to much onion
laurent from york, United Kingdom;GB (Young couple) 19 August 2005
on a longer stay,i would have been disappointed by the small tv on the far right side of the bed that had poor reception, the shower head that couldn't hardly provide water, and the four posted bed that made me feel like beeing on a boat trip.
