I did not realise before this review that pets were allowed at the establishment. Perhaps I just missed this information but it did worry me as I thought may be I might have a bad experience, eg rooms full of dog hairs!I could not have been more wrong. A guest house with real character run by a very friendly and attentive couple. Alston is off the beaten track for most people and as a result is quiet and peaceful even over a bank holiday weekend. I booked this hotel after reading all the previous positive reviews and guess what - they were all correct nice hotel,clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff good range of bottled real ales in the bar great value for money - if only all hotels were run like this. The cumberland sauasge served at breakfast along with all the other choices was wonderful it sets you up for the day,certainly not one to miss. The towels were to die for they were so clean and white it was dazzling also the bedding was the same, hand crafted quilts covered the beds they are very eyecatching.Altogether a lovely place to stay I would reccommend this to friends.
