We had a very relaxing time after lots of riding - just what we needed. Wouldn't mind popping back with just my husband!

Lovely quaint hotel in a great spot. The room was presented superbly and I loved the shampoo and shower gel. Staff were very polite and breakfast was excellent.

The chequers inn was a great place to stay at, nice friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were comfortable and great tv selection.
The restauraunt food was very good for both the evening dinner and the breakfast.

Clean, nice decor. The restauraunt was superb and also the breakfast.

Drinks in the bar a bit expensive.

Very good for the price.
(97040371)

Good location, country style feel, quiet, cleanliness of bathroom, quality of breakfast. Housekeeping were very friendly and helpful.

Check-in is quite clinical and has not been very friendly on both ocassions that we have stayed. A smile costs nothing and would be in keeping with the 'feel' of the rest of the hotel.
Anonymous (Family with older children) 21 July 2007
The bedroom was too small for two people. There was no aircon and so the room was very stuffy. Windows were too large to leave open at night. There was no residents lounge and the pub section was shabby. The food was value for money and good quality. Excellent staff attitude. Service friendly and fast. I would recommend restaurant but not the accommodation.

Friendly, efficient staff and good food.

Acdcommodation cos: too high for standard of room.

Delightful 17th Century country inn with an excellent fresh menu beautifully served by charming, well trained staff. Very warm welcome indeed.
I would certainly recommend this Inn set in beautiful gardens and in peaceful country surroundings for a quiet weekend away from it all.

Bright and airy ground floor room with large white bathroom in excellent condition.

Small area for hanging clothes over luggage rack.

Breakfast was not included if you book on line. If you book direct with the hotel braakfast is included. The restaurant was very good as were the bar meals in the attached pub. Excelent value for money. We visited Marlow which was about 8 miles away and worth going to.

Enjoyed our stay at the Chequers, staff were polite and helpful. We had an evening meal here where the food was also excellent. There are several choices of areas in the hotel where to sit and have a drink.
(3305195982)

Very clean room and comfortable bed. Bright, clean & Modern bathroom facilities. Tea and coffee making facilities and adequate facilities.

Water when taking a shower could have been hotter (thermostat was set to maximum). Noisy water pump when other guests running water. (not sure if this was due possibly to main pump being close to our room or just noise of pump in bedrooms nearby) Dining room was also quite warm during the course of our meal.

Well stocked bar, good quality food

Chamber maids came to clean a little too early in the morning. OK if working and up early but for leisure breaks a little later would be better.

This was an excellent experience for us. The room was comfortable and well serviced. The personal attention from all staff but particularly the restaurant staff was excellent. The food itself was superb and well above the standard I expected. Wine list to die for. 5 real ales. A beer garden, and a choice of a cheaper bar menu or a BBQ menu during the sunny weekend we were there. Punctual opening of restaurant for breakfast, and rapid personal service of one of the best full English breakfasts I've had in a long time. I wouldn't hesitate to book again, and will certainly recommend it to others. Thanks for a great weekend break.

We were just in the hotel for one night so we could attend a party in the area. Hotel was adequate rather than fabulous but represented good value. Short stay so we didn't speak to the staff much but they seemed pleasant enough. Did not have dinner in hotel just breakfast. Breakfast was good but we were not asked if we wanted anything cooked until a few minutes after we'd had our toast coffee etc. We found the standard double bed small and normally would expect at least a 5' bed in a hotel. The bathroom looked new and was nice and clean however the plumbing made a terrible noise whenever taps or shower were used. Would recommend this hotel only because of it's reasonable price.

Pverall I was pleased with the standard of the room - for a 2 star it was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. More dedicated Hotel staff (3 members of the restaurant walked past us in reception, without even acknowledging us before we managed to get served) in reception would be useful.
(3304285496)

The locality, decor and bathroom

The staff seemed a little disorganised and the room had 4 very bright lights outside the window but the curtains were very thin, so it was very bright even in the early hours.

I booked the hotel for two colleagues. They phoned to say how good the hotel was and the food was excellent. Should they need to book a hotel in this area again, they would not hesitate to book at the Chequers again.

We were fortunate to get a table for dinner; perhaps it would be wise to suggest to guests that they book a table at the same time as their room booking. The menu was excellent and perhaps site of a typical menu might help guests decide.
