Hellaby Hall

Hotel was nice but could do better. It's the little things that make a good hotel a very good hotel (108085779)

Food was nice, bed was good to sleep on, something that you do not always get when you stay at hotels.

Staff acted in the main as if you were interupting their social time. They did not want to help you, they would rather talk to each other. Cardiff City FC stayed at the same time as us, the spelling of Cardiff on the tables was wrong, basic error that makes the staff look stupid. The spelling was pointed out to a lady who looked as if she was in charge, she said "we know it is wrong". Still nothing was done. Out room had not been vacumed, the floor was dirty. The bathroom had lots of long black hair left in it, my hair, well i'm bald so it couldn't have been mine and my wife has short hair so it certainly wasn't hers. Thought it might have gone after the room was cleaned on the first day but it hadn't. Table lamp wasn't working in the bedroom. Bulb had blown. Had the staff shown a little more interest in teh people who ultimatley pay ehri wages I would have mentioned it. Reception staff should stand up, not sit down all of the time.

Overall pleasant stay. Restaurant staff over worked on the sunday morning, not enough on for the full restaurant, managers should look at how many guests will be dining to ensure enough staff. Boiler room next to room spoilt it as very noisy, otherwise would have been an excellent room. Excellent value for money. (3304972640)

rooms were spacious and well furnished. Very comfortable extra large king size bed. Bathrooms clean and facilities up to date.

Overall ok. But... The restaurant was very over priced and the food below average. Drinks were more expensive than in London. Staff were friendly though. (3305012614)
