positive comments The Draycott staff was exceptional and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They took care of every detail and were very helpful in guiding us through London.

We normally stay in another wellknown hotel in Chelsea but the Draycott is by far the best. We arrived in our own car and parking/unloading was a problem but that was soon sorted out. (97224003)

positive comments Everything was just perfect - absolutely no complaints and cannot wait to stay there again

positive comments Privacy, space and furnishings with homely atmosphere. Enjoyed use of public rooms, view over gardens and late night chocolate.
negative comments No self serve tea making in some rooms for early morning wake-up. Tight staircases to lower ground floor and steps up to front door on arrival with luggage.

To be honest I came across this hotel which was slightly outside my business allowance as all other hotels were full and I felt able to spend a little extra. The description (and reviews) interested me as I have spent too many nights in dreary rooms, and the boutique style of hotels currently popular have too much of the Emperors' Clothes about them where style is all and substance very little. I lioked the low key but obviously caring atmosphere. I loved the little touches such as name on door and personal note welcoming me to the room rather than that annoying message displayed on the TV screen you get (again) too often. In other words I felt that I was a valued customer and not just a body on the bed. (3305056110)

positive comments luxury without pretension; feeling of calmness
negative comments not sure if there was a breakfast room or not!

I think I covered my major points above: The Draycott is a wonderful hotel! (2474757)

positive comments I have nothing but superlatives for the Draycott. My 15-year old daughter and I deserved a special break, and the Draycott delivered. The hotel was quiet and elegant, and the staff was more than considerate. The Draycott is a beautiful hotel, and I look forward to returning as soon as possible.
negative comments The only improvement I would like to see -- and it is one about which the hotel can do nothing -- is that there were some very loud (and thus rude) Americans staying at the Draycott at the same time I was. I am an American, and I am always stricken when my fellow citizens behave badly in another country. It often seems that some Americans are determined to keep the stereotype of ugly American tourists alive and well. This time, I was embarrassed by (or for) the family who let their sons run shouting through the hotel, and by the Mom who insisted on reading the newspaper aloud to her husband and son in the sitting room, despite the presence of several other guests who were trying to enjoy a quiet evening drink. Please, people -- remember that when you visit another country, you have an ambassador-like responsibility to show your country at its best. If you decide to pay for true elegance, as you will at the Draycott, then do your part to maintain that elegance. Just because you forked over a lot of money to book at a superb hotel does not entitle you to treat it like your backyard.
