Hotel Italie et Suisse

One of the rooms was at back of hotel with no view and we asked to change rooms but were told hotel was full - but it did not seem to be full when we were at breakfast. Rooms were cold but when we asked we were told that heating was not allowed until 15th October in Italy - I can't say whether or not this is so. I feel hotel breakfast should be advertised as Continental. For the price we paid we would at least have expected boiled eggs. Other guests did have boiled eggs but when we asked, we were told it would take 30 minutes and we would be charged extra. The breakfast was monotonous. (97657613)

Very friendly family who spoke English when we ran out of Italian. A reduction on paRKING (OPPOSITE THE HOTEL) WAS AVAILABLE. wE WENT AT THE END OF oCTOBER, SO THE LAST WEEK OF THE SEASON WHEN THERE WERE FEW THINGS OPEN AND VERY FEW WATERBOATS. wE HAVE PREVIOUSLY VISITED THE AREA IN sEPTEMBER, SO A BETTER TIME TO VISIT. Hotel Italie et Suisse is very central - convenient for restaurants, shops and boat trips and in walking distance of the station. Our room overlooked the lake (but many do not), had french windows and a small balcony. It is a small, family hotel which is clean and comfortable hotel for a realistic price. Be aware that traffic noise may be a problem if you leave the windows open, and the hotel is over 5 storeys with only a small lift. (99470615)

The main irritation was that some food items at breakfast ran out long before breakfast was due to end. There seemed to be some reluctance in replenishing the ham, cheese, etc. but eventually it appeared if you stuck around for long enough. There was very little variety in the breakfast from day to day. Staff were polite but not friendly. (3304461484)
