Room - excellent, great 4 poster bed

The hotel part was excellent but the restaurant was poor. Standard of food was not good at all which we intimated to the staff who said they were in the process of changing their suppliers. Don't choose the steak without first checking whether supplier has changed. We would recommend hotel for accommodation only. (99011222)

Fantastic hotel & rooms. Very clean and staff were very helpful. Cleaners were excellant and did over and above what i'd expect.

Not really a dislike but the aircon/heating system took a while to work out. An instruction booklet would be useful.

Although the room was very comfortable the experience was let down by the lodge rooms being set away from the main reception, dining and bar building. The bar and lounge area was poor considering how it was advertised and the fact it has three stars, (99694897)

Shower in the bath did not have fixing to allow stand up shower and didn't have a shower screen The hot water was not thermostatically controlled and the water was dangerously hot.

When booking the hotel, the description was of a golf hotel, near Battle. ON checking in at the hotel, the actual accomodation is a golf lodge, with all bar and eating facilities in the golf club bar. This is not true to the desription you provide and not what we were looking for. So much so that we decided not to stay and left to find an alternative where we could enjoy our stay

Our stay was perfect and the booking information very detailed, so we were told everything we needed to know beforehand. Great hotel / golf course combination, set as a perfect base to explore the local towns of Rye and Hastings. We shall be visiting again! (99900404)

The King Room was worth every penny, the bed and bath were huge and made our stay very comfortable.

The food - when it came - was good, the room was lovely, the bed was comfortable. The service and system at breakfast was apalling. There was no proper shower. I burnt myself on the boiling hot towel rail. Thought it should have made it clearer that this was a golf club which happened to have accomodation rather than a hotel with a golf course. We had a thoroughly pleasant stay at the Sedlescombe Golf Hotel. The staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and very attentive. Our room was spacious and clean and had lovely views across the adjoining golf course. We did have some noise from the next door room which could have been a problem but we were able to move into another room which solved the problem. This may have not been possible if the hotel was fully booked and my only slight reservation would be with the thinness of the walls and the fact that sound from adjoining rooms was audible. Big,airy room. Great big bed!

The heating could have been turned on before our arrival. It was freezing! But heated up quickly.

The hotel was easy to find although it was a bit strange trying to find reception which was within the restaurant/bar area. The Manager Jules was extremely helpful and informative. We ate in the bar area as the restaurant was closed but the food was second to none as was the reasonably priced bottle of Red that helped us wash it down. Following a wonderful lie in, a much deserved one for my partner as it was his birthday, we strolled back to the bar area for breakfast, once again the food was delicious and set us up really well for our round of golf. This hotel is excellant value for money, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the golf course is superb. All in all we'd give it 11 out of 10 and we'll definately be going back. (2976614)

The food was superb - the only trouble was that the portions were too large and we couldn't manage a dessert! Excellent wine list too. When we arrived we were not sure that we were in the right place. Not having stayed before, we thought we were only at the golf club! Perhaps the sign could be clearer 'hotel reception'. This was overall an excellent stay, made even better by the friendly and courteous service of the front desk staff. A great find, and we will certainly stay again when we are in the area. (2792613)

I did alot of research before i stayed so expected everything. I was impressed by friendliness of staff and their eagerness to help. I am a low carb dieter- and your staff araanged a fabulous breakfast for me. Breakfast was superb- a lovely upmarket change to normal continental breakfast offered by majority of establishments. I have never been a keen golfer but your estate and a walk around the course has inspired me so im off to the driving range this evening. CLEAN,QUIET,LOCATION - peaceful , yet only a few miles from downtown Hastings, Friendly staff ,good food . If you play golf the teaching and coaching facilities are also very good.

Overall the accommodation was excellent. Although it is really a golf club with accommodation on the side, this was not a problem. The food was brilliant and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return in the future! (2556747)

Although you advertise this as a golf hotel it is infact a golf club with a lodge with rooms.Meal had to be taken in the club house with members watching several telivisions.The upstairs room was not availabe as it was being used by golf societies.While the room was first class and the staff very good I do not feel that you can call this a hotel. The hotel lived up to all that was promised. I arrived late in the evening but was offered a meal even though it was at the kitchen closing deadline. The setting is very private, very peaceful and the air conditioning very efficient. (2398957)
