Overall a comfortable, nice 1 night stay, the hotal definately had more personality than a travelodge type of option when staying away on business and the staff were very friendly. Could maybe just do ith a little more TLC in the rooms, but by no means a reason not to stay but air-con would be a great improvement, especially for visitors staying in spring/summer. But a nice menu carried out very well is reason enough for me to stay again if necessary in the future. (3304632300)

positive comments The bar and restaurant had a welcoming friendly feel, the food was delicious and wine selection very good, nice little courtyard area outside. Easily accessible when travelling in.
negative comments The hotel was very hot so you had to open the windows, which unfortunately made it very noisy being so close to the road, would benefit greatly from air conditioned rooms - which one would expext for the price per night.

The stay was slightly marred by the failure of the water heating system. This was beyond the control of the hotel staff and they dealt with it as efficiently as possible. They manager made a small allowance in the price for the inconvenience but this did not compare well with the generosity of a hotel in a larger group where we encountered a similar problem and were awarded a free weekend in recompense. positive comments Clean and free from cigarette smells
negative comments Not sufficient artificial light in the room for comfortable reading at night.

We were pleasantly surprised as we got more than we expected for a 3 star hotel. The only concern was the A31 which was just outside our room...I didnt' see any reference to this, however, we didn't hear much and had a peaceful night. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant, the staff were courteous and the full english breakfast included in the price, plentiful. All in all, for an overnight stay, we couldn't have asked for anything more. (3304264656)

positive comments We liked the lot - room, bed, staff, location for the New Forest and Poole etc.
negative comments Provide an alarm clock as I couldn't see one in there...helpful so you don't oversleep.
