Fire alarm went off early morning, but guests had no feedback on cause - although it did appear to be from one of the rooms. Got a parking ticket as no one at the hotel bothered to let me know you need to display a 'disc' in the car.

We were very happy with our stay and would use this hotel again. The hotel rooms are a little tired, such as stains on the carpet in the room and curtains with broken track, perhaps the general maintanece could be improved. (97967643)

Views from the room were delightful, staff were excellent the room was a fantastic size and the bed was huge. The service at breakfast was great we were made to feel very welcome

Curtain rails in the room were broken, and the bath would not emtey of water without the help of my eyebrow tweezers to release the plug!! the lift was a long way from the room.

Fundamentally we would recommend to others that it is a satisfactory to stay. Staff are friendly & willing to be helpful - a good plus from our experience. If we had been going on holiday we would like to have known that the restaurant was relatively expensive, although excellant. If using it every day it could more than double the cost of a stay. Although it was a 'budget' room it was a double squeezed into a single. However it was quiet with no annoying external noises. Fine for us as we spent our time at relatives & friends houses. Not so good for a couple on holiday.You would want one of the superior rooms.

Reading the review on the website i expected a luxury room. Although the room was big. There were several water stains and other stains and the room was quite noisy particullary the toilet pump.The TV was small and came out of a cupboard. This was a poor value for money but probably par for the Isle. The hotel has had a major revamp and seems classy however much of this is superficial. What looks great is quite different when you stay there for any length of time. I get the feeling it is well managed from the hotel's viewpoint but not when viewed as a customer (97071562)

The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The room was large room with a large double bed, fridge (not mini-bar an actual fridge)and a fantastic view of the bay. Even the bathroom had a bay view. The breakfast had the best choice I have ever had. There was a variety of cooked breakfasts including the full english which included bacon, sausage, beans, grilled tomato, black pudding, hash brown, mushrooms, fried bread and your choice of egg, brought freshly cooked to your table. My husband was over the moon with the large choice of fresh fruit including three types of melon, fresh pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, apples, kiwis and oranges plus dried fruit and nuts. The food was excelent, The dinning room staff all-though they looked a little bored they were very helpful and smiled when talking with guests. If i was to stay again in the hotel i would ask to view the room first and check for noise. Toilets on the floor i was in also made loud noise when filling, could have been electric pumps ! never been in hotel that has had same problem and i stay in hotels every week of the year for two/Three nights. I liked the modern outlook and design of the hotel and the room though a little small but as I was alone it was ok, Bed was comfortable and bathroom modern looking.

The room given to me was very noisy, and was not able to sleep with a window open as there was noise from outlets just outside the window, not sure what they were for, could have been kitchens or the heating/aircon, Bathroom could have been cleaner as i found hair on the floor, Not my colour.

The only thing I'd comment on was that there was a very limited range of channels available on the TV in the room. These days, you expect a lot more. (99957804)

I ordered a newspaper but they do not arrive until 9.00AM which is of no use.

I was in the Isle of Man on business and my husband came with me. We therefore wanted a comfortable hotel in which I could work on the laptop and he could relax and enjoy himself. We found the Claremont comfortable, easily accessible from the ferry, with fairly good parking on the promenade, for which the hotel gave us a disk. We didn't eat in the hotel as we had other arrangements, but we did have some drinks one evening and breakfasts on both the mornings we were in the hotel. The room was perhaps rather small but we were pleased with the full bathroom and the comfort of the bed. The lighting was rather dim and only one side of the bed had a bedside light, but there was small desk/dressing table at which I could work with a table lamp and socket for laptop. I didn't make use of the wireless internet access on this occasion but may do so on a future visit. (99003960)

Although we had a fabulous time and we were very impressed with the attitude of staff this is our second visit and on both occassions we have been greeted at reception by being asked if we were sure we were at the right hotel. This was quickly sorted out this time (the wrong year had been entered on the system) but it does make the start of your stay a bit fractious. Everything aside we wouldnt hesitate to stay at the Claremont again - although next time we would prefer to have a sea facing room on the first or second floor. (3305259836)

The location of the hotel is close to the building I need to travel to, however overall the accommodation is pretty poor.

The poor quality of the rooms, last week my partner and I stayed in room 320, and it was freezing cold. The radiators hardly produced any heat and you could barely swing a cat in the room. Not to mention the fact the shower tray each morning was covered in flies - which I had to rinse out before I could shower.

The hotel was right on the sea front, very clean and modern without affecting the period features. Bright room overlooking the sea front with masses of space and a HUGE bed! The bathroom was large, and the shower powerful, but the spa bath wasn't working, which I wa sreally looking forward to after running along the Prom. Remarkably original buildings along the front, and there would be horse drawn trams in the summer. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. I didn't eat there in the evening, choosing instead a small seafood reastaurant on Ridgeway street called Tanroagan. The breakfast however was fantastic! Plenty of fresh fruit and cereals, yoghurt, nuts and seeds, and also a choice of cooked food. I had Eggs Royale, which was Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Coffee was good, and you had an option of toast, which I prefer as I hate waste! Very glad I stayed and would do so again! (99934701)

The jets in the bath didn't work, and neither did the light over the mirror.

We stayed specifically for the manx grand prix with two friends and found the accommodation perfect for our needs. The waitresses deserve special mention, they were very attentive and charming. Everything else was of an expected standard and the superb breakfast saw us through to dinner. Would definately return; if you could get us a room for the TT! (3305005645)

The Claremont Hotel seems to have been recently refurbished, and has a modern and very pleasant look. Staff are attentive, and the room was well appointed and clean. It also had a great bathroom - wish mine at home was that lovely. The fusion menu in the elegant restaurant was a bit too fussy for me but the meal I had was very enjoyable and well presented. The hotel presented as an attractive and inviting building (this was particularly reflected on the website which was used to judge which hotel to choose for our short stay. Public areas were welcoming and the Coast Restaurant very attractive. Breakfast was very good and the quality and variety of items on the buffet was most welcome.
