The Hotel is modern and well run but does not cater price wise for pensioners like myself.

The hotel was extrememly clean and comfortable, the buffet breakfast was the best we have experienced, the room was quiet, comfortable and had everything we required for a comfortable stay.

Generally OK. Special tariff promotion competitive.
(108007544)

easy access to M25. Parking available. Good access for disabled people

Kettle not working.
Had it have been, only two tea bags. Guests were myself and adult son - we would have preferred tea to other choices.
Too few staff available on reception desk. We waited and there were other guest waiting bar service.

We have stayed at Holiday Inns all over Europe and the standard has been excellent. This one has let you down. Overall experience of hotel and staff I must say was excellent though.
(97918191)

Excellent staff, couldn't be more helpful.

Room shower grouting black. Who wants to shower in that. Run out of shower gel/soap. As my husband and daughter had already showered they did not wash their hair. I was the last no shower gel. No plates for roll at breakfast, no knives, all the butter had gone only sunflower spread left.

Our stay was spoiled by a birthday party. The youngsters vomited in the entrance of the hotel and broke glasses in the lift and the car park. We had to wait at the barrier because the staff were busy or unable to hear the buzzer and in the end I had to go into the hotel to get the barrier raised. If I learn that another party is to be held when I wish to use your hotel I shall book with another hotel chain. I do visit Hemel Hempstead regularly and I was impressed on our first visit with your hotel but this last experience will make me wary when booking in future.

The facilities in the disabled room were good.

The bathroom light switch could be improved by installing a pull cord in the room instead of the outside switch (which is on the wrong side of the door for a wheelchair user). The light as it is arranged at the moment means any sleeping partner is woken when the light is operated.

Poor.
Why charge guest for parking on site, after a 4 hour journay and when arriving at 10.00pm I did not appreciate having to spend 10 minutes having to find change for a parking machine. If Holiday Inn wants more revanue from its guest, put

No TV remote in the room, shower curtain was to short causing water to spray on the bath room floor, very slippy. Will not stay at Holiday Inn Expresses when you have to pay for on site parking.

The huge cost of the room! Have to say couldn't believe it for just an overnight stay! But it seems that all cost the sam around the area. At check-in it was peak time and there were only two staff available, subsequently quite big queue formed!
(99039100)

It was clean, tidy and modern, bathroom was good.

The fact I asked for a twin room and got a double and asked for smoking and got non smoking. We were in a rush so could not alter, but this was a bit of a shame.

No parking available at the hotel both nights that we stayed there. We parked at a pub located close to the hotel. Rooms were small, we had three older children with us so booked two rooms. Second room did not have a bed in it, but rather a double put me up for the kids to sleep on next to the original bed in the room. When sitting on the mattress you could feel the springs from the put up bed. There was no hot water both mornings, just tepid. I did speak to the front desk, stated that they were having problems with the boiler, and the man who fixes the boiler was away Did suggest that they may want to find someone else to fix the boiler. This is a busy hotel and how hard is it to find a plumber mid week. Ideal for the solo travel not if with children. I would not return to this hotel. Coming from England but living in the USA for ten years, this hotel was a dissapointment for a Holiday Inn. This hotel chain has a standard and I thought this hotel did not meet the name that it is associated with.

Apart from the parking problems due to flats and pub nearby overall it was enjoyable. Staff were great, chatty friendly and made you feel as if nothing was a problem to make your stay as good as possible. The continental breakfast normally a let down was very good and set us up for the day. Location is lovely and picturesque. Reception area on first floor seemed odd and was at first difficult to find as not sign posted well from car park.
(3304590899)

Room was comfortable, clean and airy. Beds were very nice.

Parking was very bad especially as hubby is disabled and we couldn't park in disabled area as no enforcement on non disabled people also car park very open even though security barriers there but were always open. Bathroom was wet room and nearly flooded.

The hotel was relatively easy to find and car parking was secure. It was handy for local supermarkets and pubs serving meals. The surrounding area was interesting, being alongside a canal, with many narrow-boats and locks. I would like to stay in this hotel again.

Hotel had just had a power failure when we arrived, so checking in was not as swift as it should have been, electronic key entry system off-line until electrician arrived some two hours later. Rooms(even numbers)on road side of hotel very noisy during the night, due to traffic. Managed to get just three hours sleep!!However we were able to change to another room(odd numbers)car park side for the following night, brilliant. Web sites made NO mention of hotel resturant not operating at weekends including Friday evenings. Hotel car park full to capacity by eight in the evening. No local touring information available, although this Hotel is ideally situated for touring the Chilterns and Thames Valley. If a few changes were made I would recommend this hotel.
(3304365418)

Comfortable bed,the sofa was ideal for tv viewing & relaxing. Good lift from first floor(car park)to rooms.

Resturant made available at weekends because we do eat!!. Perhaps a better range of Sky channels, not just Sky One&S4C (with no broadcast content).
