I had read many reviews of the European Hotel before staying and felt a lot of trepidation about what I would find. I couldn't understand how people could give terrible reviews and positive reviews about the same place. If you want a place with great access to tube and a place to rest your head for a short stay it is ideal. Sheets and towels were new and very clean. Mattress very comfortable. Staircases are narrow (no lift) and room small but just be aware that this is the reality. We had a quiet room, number 9, which faced to the back. Breakfast was generous and no problem with running out. Staff was efficient. The complaint was the smell from the bathroom due to old pipes but just closed the door at night and no problem. Location

The room was dirty, the toilet smell like hell and there was a blood mark on the bed linen. There were also insects close to our beds. The room was tiny, no space to put the luggage or even a small bag!

Convenient to Kings X. Breakfast excellent, quickly and efficiently served. Guest in room above drunkenly left shower running, causing a flood. Night Porter quickly stopped the cause and provided lots of towels for mopping up. Electrics fortunately not affected and all worked well following morning. Room was very basic, but adequate.

The room was very clean, modern and adequately decorated. The breakfast was good value. The security was good. It was definately worth the money spent.

There was no globe in the bedside lamp. The ceiling fan switches on when you put the main light on, but there is no switch to turn it off. The room is quite small... but more bothersome, is that it is too cluttered.

Excellent feather pillows and large windows that open. The location is good in that it is close to everything, especially the underground.

I wasn't impressed with the peeling wallpaper or the single bulb overhead fixture. There were no lamps in the room. Both the room and the bathroom were very small. Maybe our room was one of a few that needed to be upgraded. I say this because on two occasions, other guests said that the hotel was nice.

The booking on-line was very simple and quick

On booking in I was not informed about the breakfast that I had paid for and were the facilities for this service was. On the double bed that we were given the was single sheets and blankets laid on it for us to use. The room size was barely big enough for a single bed occupancy let alone double. The en-suite shower water ran cold for over 20 minutes before the water became warm enough to use. The room in the evening and early hours of the morning became to hot to sleep in and caused much discomfort and lack of sleep for both myself and partner, as we where forced to evacuate the room to a cooler area outside the hotel in the park!

The value for the money is excellent. Finding cheap, clean, safe accommodation in London was important, and this facility fits the bill. The location is also excellent, as it is very convenient to the Underground and St. Pancras Train Station. The breakfast was hot, and the service there abrupt, but quick. On our last night, people in a room adjacent were heavy smokers. We complained at the front desk, but am not sure if they did anything as the smell continued all night. If we had been staying longer, we would have been more annoyed, but it was just one night. Other than that, aside from rickety furniture and a not-very-comfortable bed, the value is fantastic. We would definitely stay here again on future trips to London, as our demands for luxury our low. If you want safe, basically clean, convenient accommodation, this should do it. (97323601)

Underground was very accessible. The place is new inside and clean with daily cleaning of our room, bathroom (change of towels and supply of bath tissue),receiving and dining rooms. Breakfast was superb. The staff was polite and accommodating.

It was a tip-the hall and landing under decoration with scarped wall paper and dust everywhere and my clothes were covered in dust-the carpet was up and there was no explanation or apology. The toilets did not work properly and the room next door were noisy until 4am!
