This is a family run hotel, family being the key word. Very helpful staff and the owners couldn't be more helpful. I would highly recommend as very good value for money, especially as it had an indoor swimming pool. The only meal we had in the hotel was breakfast and again good value for money.

This was the first stay at this hotel with a key business client, on check in we were immediately asked with no prompting would we like an upgrade to the Penthouse suite with two double en suite bedrooms. I have travelled before with this client and we agreed. The suite was huge with fantastic views. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, I would be more than happy to recommend this hotel to anyone and in fact my client is considering taking his wife for a break! I didn't read any in depth information about the hotel before I went, so the whole style was something of a surprise, my room in particular.The sheer size of it, together with the weather, defeated the central heating, but there were 2 portable heaters provided. I enjoyed my stay, it provided what I was looking for, in a beautiful area, already well known to me. (97796696)

I had plenty of space in a pretty unusual room and 4 full sized patio windows, 2 of which overlooked the straits. It was very quiet, which was a bonus.There was also a kitchen area, which I hadn't expected.There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the service was quick and cheerful. There was private access from the outside, which was useful.

The bathroom was ok, if somewhat musty and for the time of year the bedding was a little optimistic! I'm sure there would have been more available, had I asked, but I travel prepared.The kitchen area was potentially useful, although the microwave plate was missing and initially little touches were missing, ie a cup for the complementary tea and coffee. A dishcloth and teatowel arrived on the next day. From a personal viewpoint, I would like to see curtains, at least on the doors leading back to the carpark, as the winds had obviously taken their toll on the vertical blind.However the curtains on the bedroom area helped with privacy.

We were made welcome from the moment we arived at the hotel and because of inclement weather we were allocated a different room to the original one that we had booked. The alternative accommodation was superior to the original one in every aspect and could not be faulted. Throughout our stay the staff and owners were only too happy to ensure that our stay was unforgettable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is considering staying in the area, without any hesitation whatsoever.

Clean, tidy and warm

Unfortunately, there was a Christmas party booked for the night we stayed and our room was right above the bar, which meant it was just a little too noisy until the early hours.

As a regular user of hotels (business and pleasure) I was surprised to find that i was expected to pay for the whole stay upon the arrival night (appeared as if we were not trusted to settle our account when leaving). (97421397)

The very friendly staff made my stay enjoyable

This hotel had a warm, friendly atmosphere. It has an indoor swimming pool, bar area, breakfast room and dining room for evening meals. The room was clean, neat and modern with a lovely view out on to the sea, although most rooms dont have this view. We would definately stay here again. (97091417)

This hotel is in a lovely position but needs a little more attention to detail. Most staff were friendly but trying to do too many jobs at once and I had to wait 10 mins before I was served at the bar when there was nobody else waiting. Room was reasonably clean but dusty in places. Dinner was very good but I was surprised to be informed when my steak arrived that the peppercorn sauce promised had run out. Considering this was the only sauce offered with steak and I had ordered steak specifically I felt that this was a bit of a devil may care attitude and prehaps it would have been better to offer me an alternative. I would return to this hotel but only after being assured that they had more staff who know what tey are doing and more care is taken in cleaning the rooms (97925973)

On Saturday night the bar was busy and noisy - my wife was kept awake until 01:00 (am). On Saturday night I was served with a lady guest's evening meal in error by the restaurant staff. The lady had ordered her food at least 1/2 hr before we arrived. The ladies husband had already received his meal. We only stayed one night on the way to the ferry at Holyhead. The hotel was a great location for this purpose, only 20 minutes away. We were extremely pleased with all aspects, probably the only problem was we were given too much to eat, although the food was very good. We would definitely return. (97610146)

Breakfast on the Sunday (we left Monday morning) was a shambles, although we were refunded that breakfast and the Monday morning one as recommpense. Lack of a catcher and seater at breakfast was a significant contribution to the disorganisation, especially as half the breakfast wwas in one room and half in another, and staff did not expalain which bits were where. General feeling was that the satff were overwhelmed by the numbers and never recovered the situation. We would recommend the hotel if the issues above were corrected. (97930296)

Spectacular views

1. No bedside lamps or over head lamps in our room, so having to get out of bed to switch off main light after reading, and also feeling around in the dark for the light switch in the middle of the night. 2. Decor in need of an overhaul, and removal or replacement of vertical blinds, which were for the most part broken.

The pubs n restaurants nearby were friendly and food quality was fantastic however was a little disappointed to see advertised a piano but without a resident player i thought it would be romantic to bring my girlfriend here for a romantic piano player and was disappointed in the poor value for money of the breakfast but overall was a very enjoyable weekend thank you (97080182)

As we only stayed overnight in the end instead of the two nights booked we did not sample the restaurant or any facilities other than our rooms. They were surface clean but a bit shabby in places. Any problems with the shower etc had been given a quick fix which was not really acceptable. Its a shame as the location was good and the staff friendly. (99100288)

When we first booked Plas Dinorwic we did not realise exactly where it was situated. We soon found out that, overlooking the Menai Straits, it affords wonderful views whether it rains or shines, In addition it is within easy reach of the sights of Snowdonia and Angelsey. (99125111)
