A real double!! This was the only time in our entire two week stay that we ever saw a true double bed instead of two twins pushed together!

The morning that they took out the trash, it was incredibly loud and incredibly early. Because the trash was located just beyond our room, when the city workers dragged it by our windows, it woke us up and because it there were several of the cans, it kept us up for a while. Other than that, a great stay.

Everything about the hotel itself - it is a comfortable apartment in pleasant surroundings and an ideal location for the town centre.

Our only complaint was that during the last night of our stay, one of the electrical powerpoints was malfunctioning and making loud periodic snapping sounds that kept us up for a while. Quiet, convenient (kitchen), and extremely close to downtown

my mother and i stayed at embassy 100 upon our arrival in reykjavik. the apartments were very well situated on what i would call the nicer side of the centre. it was very quiet, and yet an easy 10 minute walk to downtown. the apartment was well-equipped, including a dishwasher! and it was much larger than i thought. the only negative side was that there was no personal interaction with either the manager or the other residents staying there. it is kind of nice to visit with others when you are travelling. however, i would most certainly recommend the embassy apartments to anyone. The accomodation is roomy, clean, quiet, comfortable and well-furnished. The kitchen is well-equipped and the bathroom facilities are useful. The check-in process was easy even though we arrived at 2 AM.

The location was ideal: close to city center, but on a quiet street. Plenty of privacy.

The windows only had sheer drapes making it difficult to sleep during the June nights (which are bright as day). The apartment should have had black-out drapes installed in addition to the sheers.

Very good location, good size, very clean and comfortable

I stayed in apartment 100 with my family (2 adults + 2 low teen kids) for 5 nights. There were grocery store (1011), liquor shop (vin bud), and bakerly in walking distance (around 5 minutes). Room arrangements, cleanness, location, etc, everything were perfect for my family. Information provided from the hotel beforehand was also pretty adequate. Thank you very much. (99818992)

It would have been beneficial to have been supplied with directions to the appartments from the BSI terminal as it was very late when we arrived & difficult to get a taxi. This hotel is in a really good location near the BSI terminal & the centre of the town.The appartment was ok for a few nights but if i was staying longer i would book one of the bigger appartments (we stayed in no 64). It still had good facilities (pretty much anything you could want)& was similar to the others just in a smaller space. Good for a few nights or for one person. Really enjoyed our stay (3304927566)

For families this is the way to go- perfect location a few blocks from the action, but quiet, with some room to spread out. The apartment was clean and well furnished, had linens and stuff like salt and pepper, paper towels, sugar for coffee. Sofabed was plenty big for 2 teenage boys. Our apt (embassy 100) had shower only, and was on what Americans would consider 2nd floor. We stayed in a hotel earlier- had to have 2 rms, had much less space- this is the best deal and most comfort. (3304909699)

This is a very good apartment with an excellent location. I wouldn't necessarily call it luxury, but it was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Iceland is more expensive than you can imagine, so it is nice to have the option of cooking a few meals at home to make it a bit more affordable. (3304203382)

Well-equipped kitchen which allowed us to save a bit of money by cooking at home a few times - cost of eating out is astronomical!

A few little things needed fixing in the apartment (CD player skipped regularly, light flickered) - nothing to deter us from staying there again.

We found this to be an excellent accomodation in all respects. The small amount of interaction with the staff was very pleasant, they were available when needed but totally unobtrusive otherwise. We particularly appreciated the apartment concept, i.e. able to do our own cooking on our own schedule, this fit our needs very well. The high-speed internet access was also very useful, we were able to keep in touch with home easily (it's especially nice to be able to post photos as we take them) but also had instant access to local weather, events, schedules, etc. (3304324821)

The location was excellent for our needs. The facility was clean and comfortable.

One of the five nights there was a very noisy group present in one of the other apartments, no other complaints.

This apartment (#70) gave us the two bedrooms we wanted for the family. We were surprised to find the rest of the apartment spacious and nicely decorated with lovely original art work on the walls. Satellite TV was a nice touch for a few quieter moments back at the apartment (and DVD player would have been perfect). Facilities excellent, and a nice warm space - in fact at times too warm until we discovered how to adjust the heating. We appreciated the restaurant and activity guides, and perhaps the best aspect of the apartment was it's location close to the centre of the old town, harbour and the main shopping and restaurant area. Our only hiccup was arrival and the lack of clarity over which of the two addresses we were staying at (Castle or Embassy Apartments). We had assumed they were almost next door to each other, and in the event the taxi dropped us at the first lot, and then once we realised our mistake we had to walk with our bags to the the second. Unclear on arrival whether we which of the two locations we were staying at, so taxi dropped us off at the wrong one. Occassionally too hot at night.

The apartment was a great location, near to the lake and shops (very good shops!), museums, restaurants, cafe's and tourist information centres. It would have been nice to have full cooking facilities but there was a hob and microwave (but no oven). We had an early morning flight and arrived about 11am and were allowed to check in to our rooms straight away which was appreciated and meant we were able to start our sightseeing earlier. The rooms are cleaned everyday (unless you ask for them not to be) and we were never disturbed when we were in the room. This was a great place to stay and I would definitely recommend it to friends. The Embassy hotels are in a great location for getting out and about around town conveniently. The appartment was extremely well equipped - microwave, oven, coffee making machine, an array of drinking glasses from beer to champagne flutes. And all crockery/furnishings were in excellent condition. Very friendly and helpful owners too.

The only slightly disappointing thing was the size of the shower. But this won't put me off staying here again. Definately a place I will go back to.

Needs a sign visible from the road - every time we were collected (and the first time we were dropped off) the driver had difficulty locating the address.

An excellent stay. It was very helpful to get in early to the apartment. The lady owner was most helpful and friendly. The apartment even had a parking space in the drive for our hire car. Their location, right in the centre of the city, was perfect and allowed us to walk to all the major sites. I think we were provided with all the relevant information. The photographs on the web made the apartment look a bit basic. It was, in fact, just lovely and so spacious and comfortable. We would definitely recommend them to others. (2308455)

We were in Embassy apartments, Reykjavik. Thwy were lovely inside, spacious, very comfortable and very well-equipped and, by Iceland standards, excellent value for money - much better than a hotel.

I don't think the images on the website do justice to these apartments. They were so much nicer than I thought they would be.

The location of the apartments was excellent about a 5min walk to the city centre. The apartment was a very good size and well equipped with - we didnt want to leave !!!!!!! The only downside is the lack of reception desk - we had to call the telephone number given to us and were told some one would meet us at the apartments with the keys but we were kept waiting for a while which is quite scary when you are waiting in the middle of the night in a foreign country !!!!! The Castle House Luxury Apartments was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in my travels. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff was more than friendly. It was located right in the 101 which made it very convenient when the Reykjavik night life grabbed a hold of us. My freind missed his flight and had to stay with us for 3 days, the staff immediately set up an additional bed and let us know it would not be a problem. The only thing that could have made it any better would have been wireless internet. there was a local connection somewhere, but it was encrytped and probably belonged to the National Gallery next door. Very well placed accommodation near the city centre- with Tourist Office and Supermarket. Right next door to a museum and within easy reach of all major activities. British radio and TV programmes available. No real need to get a taxi from the BSI bus station- it's only a 10 minute walk.
