It is the centre of Keswick. Free car parking

The pictures on the website of the rooms were nothing like the rooms in the hotel. Very disappointed with the room as we booked a superior double expecting something like the rooms on the website!!!

Had a great time
(108087461)

Pleasant atmosphere generated by staff.
Excellent position

Restaurant just lacks atmosphere and serves what is really pub food.
Although you could not wish for a better position, the hotel is in a pedestrian area and it is necessary to carry your bags for a couple of hundred yards to the hotel
stephen from fareham, GB (Mature couple) 31 May 2008
Very good and would recommend to friends but warn them they may need ear plugs.Walks around Derwent water excellent.
(97912939)

Excellent food and friendly staff.

Bathroom very cramped and position of toilet extremely strange! A larger person would have had difficulty accessing the toilet.
Also, Keswick was quite noisy in the early hours of the morning.

Perfect location, a very pleasant and easy stay. Free convenient parking was also an added bonus.

Very spacious with all the facilities needed. Very clean and pleasant.

Nothing particularly, although you could hear the people in the bar.

We only stayed for one night and could not find anything to complan about. It is a well run hotel in a wonderful location.
Our stay was the last week in October and therefore out of season, we might have a few concerns regard noise if we were to stay in the high season. However as my husband discovered the local beers may be a solution to this problem!!!!!!
(97648674)

the bedrooms were decorated to a high standard. The beds were extremely comfortable and of course the views were beautiful.

the stairs may have been a problem for older people

The nightclub which was next door was unbearable at 2am. This was never mentioned on the website when we booked the room. We needed to be up very early in the morning and when you are woken up at this time in the morning it is very hard to get back to sleep. We now know why you provide ear plugs. If I was recommending this hotel I would have to mention the nightclub.
(99858279)

I thought the facilities in the hotel were good the breakfast and evening meal we had were lovely. The location of the hotel is good apart from the nightclub which I mention below.

The nightclub

Friendly welcome, nice breakfast,

Noisy, shower had a good spray but you had to hold the shower head as it was not the original shower head. Lack of hot water at breakfast for making tea.

Well appointed, spacious rooms with good en-suite facilities. Tea, coffee and biscuits were supplied each day. The Hotel is situated centrally for shops, pubs, and local market each Saturday. Our room did not have a view, but I know that some do have lovely views of the nearby hills. Enjoyed our stay. Thank you to Mr Price the Manager for allowing our dog to stay, even though the hotel have a no dogs policy.

The receptionist was very polite and keen to help us book in quickly. The staff in the restaurant and bar were also very helpful. However, we were very disappointed with the room. We had booked a superior room and were expecting a larger room than a standard double but this particular room was very small. The bathroom was even smaller!! I don't suppose there is a lot they could do though bearing in mind the rooms will have been converted to en-suite at some point, so something has to give somewhere!

I had a room on the second floor the steps were very steep and narrow, no help with my luggage was offered. When you book on line the hotel does not know what age group you belong to, so it would have been better to have a warning on line for less able people. Did not spoil my stay, would recommend.
(3304196690)

Central location, free parking, good pub food

Ask to help with cases if room on the second floor

Could not get any sleep for the noise from the nightclub, and the takeaway shop. I Would not book this Hotel on a weekend again

I would like to have known that there was no bath in the room. I like a shower in the morning, but the opportunity for a soak at the end of the day is important to me. It would have been useful to know that a parking pass was available from the hotel. I'd already put some money into the meter before I found this out. Otherwise it is fine. In effect it is a pub with rooms, but the room I had was good and the value for money very good.
(2763898)

It was good accommodation, very competitively priced

Earlier breakfast. 8am is a little late for someone travelling on business. I do appreciate that it probably deals more in the tourist market.

Great location in a really nice town and a good pub. the food was excellent.
william from liverpool, United Kingdom;GB (Group of work colleagues) 01 September 2005
This was an adequate location and venue for three male colleaugues on a short walking break as it was located so near to pubs restaurants etc. We didnt want to stay in a quiet place for couples and families. The staff were good, bar stayed open until the last guest went to bed and booking was easy on the internet with the right information available. was not disappointed in any way because the views on the internet told me exactly what to expect and this was the kind of venue that we wanted - simple, easy going. think this venue would be great on a weekend.

The hotel was pleasantly situated, the room was adequate and, apart from the check-in situation, the staff were friendly and efficient. Overall it was good value for money and all claims on the web-site were fair.
(2545843)

Centrally located, friendly staff

I was travelling with my son and had booked a twin room. They had reserved a double room. When they checked the reservation they admitted their mistake (no apology) and found me another, less pleasant twin room. It's the sort of minor hassle you can do without when travelling.

The hotel itself is lovely, but had I have known just how loud it was going to be, I wouldn't have booked to stay here. I can appreciate its on the main street, but I didn't know about the nightclub next door, which was extremely noisy, along with the early morning deliveries, and bin collections, it was very difficult to get a good nights sleep.
So overall, lovely hotel, shame about the noise level
Would recommend to others, but warn about noise level fist
(2437151)

The first room we stayed in was very good, sadly, I couldn't say that for the second room (room 3) The shower leaked everywhere, and the noise that you could hear from this room was extremely loud, on the day we departed, quite a few guests complained

The room was of a poorer standard than we would have expected.
(1632184)

Friendly efficient staff, convenient location, good bar, good breakfast.

Room was sold as a 'superior' room. We were glad we were not in an 'inferior' room. It was shabby and in need of a refurb.
Robert from King's Lynn, United Kingdom (Mature couple) 01 November 2004
I would have liked to know about the noise level in Room 14 as I would not have booked the Hotel had I known-I could have obtained cheaper and quiter accommodation further from the town centre. The actual room was ok but I have put poor due to the noise level.
I would recommend the hotel on condition that a much quieter room was available.
(1620373)

Convenient/food was good/ beer was good/ staff were generally very helpful

Room 14 was above Karioke and it was impossible to hear the TV until the bar closed
