had a great stay,only one neg,the large banner fixed to the front of the building broke loose and was flapping around most of the night (107793373)

The room i was in was very clean

The carpet on stairs leading from reception was threadbare

we stayed for just one night, and really enjoyed our time, lots to do in the area, the breakfast was really good with lots of choice. (107139909)

the reception staff are really welcoming, room was a nice size, with a good view over the forest, bar was nice and cosy and very relaxing.

All seemed very pleasant and comfortable. Restaurant food expensive and complicated both in presentation of menu and type of cuisine offered. It was not good value for money, in fact one of us had very little to eat, just a dab consisting of skin and bone for £14. Breakfast was good. Swimming pool and gym also good so it's worth taking your sportswear. Towels are provided. (3304273435)

Respect silence at night: we were woken at 12.20.a.m. for delivery of reataurant bill. Get a softer mattress. Softer mattress. More consistency with restaurant standards.

Minor maintenance

We have travelled widely as a family throughout Europe, USA and Far East so have good knowledge about the minimum standards for a good hotel. Balmer Lawn measures up well to this international standard except that in most places I would expect to cover room, continental breakfast and evening meal for the same amount that is the B&B price at Balmer Lawn.
