had an extremely busy week and booked the hotel so that i could drive down to watford and prepare for my meeting and have an early night so that i was fresh for friday morning, although the food ,staff and general comfort was ok.i was rather concerned that i didn`t really get the rest that i felt that i deserved,on explaining this to reception staff i was told that the heating to this part of the hotel was turned on the week previous to my checking in .

staff politeness,food very good ,
cleanliness of hotel

room was extremely cold and noisy some form of double glazing would be a real improvment and not emptying bottle bins at 10.30.in the evening would also be an advantage.

Position of car park was unclear, I found it more by luck than judgment. Other than this the hotel was what I would expect of an hotel in this category

the location

Facilities were very basic but ok for a nights stay.
Catherine from Neath, GB (Group of adult friends) 16 April 2008
As we were only visting the hotel for one evening and did not all arrive at the same time, the staff were very helpful in giving us extra tips to explain to our late arrival how best to locate the hotel as she arrived just after midnight. I had explained this to the staff in an earlier telphone call that we could be late and they accepted this without a problem.
(97327855)

The room was spacious and very clean. Staff were more than helpful providing directions, maps and tips. Although we only stayed one night we were made to feel welcome and we would have no hesitation in staying again. Our breakfast was cooked exactly as we requested and served with a cheerful smile and greeting.

We did not have a problem with any aspect of our accomodation. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

The only criticism(s) would be the lack of adequate staffing. Equally there did not appear to be a duty manager. We were told that weekends are normally quiet, and clealy no one seemed aware of a major sporting event taking place - the restaurant couldn't cope. It was only the magnificent attitude and committment of the few staff that saved the hotel from many complaints.
(97871150)

Good quality hotel, excellent staff service

Staffing levels inadequate; situation saved only by committment of those staff who were there.

Very pleasant and obliging staff both at reception and in the restaurant. Reasonable hotel parking area. Bright and inviting foyer and bar area. Spacious executive bedroom and a tasty breakfast.
The hotel's location is excellent for the shops.

Good size room and bathroom. Excellent location for central Watford.

Would prefer proper shower controls rather than bathtaps.

The hotel was extremely reasonable and of a high standard. Apart from not having air con, I can find no fault with the amenities or the staff. I would stay here again
(97299766)

It was close to the town centre, it was clean and comfortable and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast was excellent.

I would have liked air con simply because we could not leave our window open at night due to street noise

The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The resturant staff were particularly attentive. There was a relaxed atmosphere at the hotel and the rooms were very clean. I was pleasently surprised by the size of the room/en-suite and appreciated all the facilities available to me; from the tea and biscuits to the use of the iron. Generally a good hotel for a reasonable price.
(99837095)

Lots of equipment in my room: I appreciated the iron and the roominess of the bathroom. The staff were very polite too.

The smell in the corridors was extremely strong and made me feel quite nausious and claustrophobic. It also got very hot at night.

Are they holding a wedding/birthday event that night!!
(99282409)

Location ideal for Wembley - good breakfast - friendly staff - good room

A birthday party who booked a function room were allowed to spill into the main bar (especially their toddlers)- forcing several residents to have to flee back to their room instead of enjoying a quiet drink. This would prevent me staying there next time.

The check in service was smooth, we arrived early and needed to go on to the main purpose of our trip, however our bags were stored securely.
The room was very good and served our purpose well.
The hotel is situated within walking distance to the town centre, but not that close that it was noisy.
The staff were very good from the first minute to the check out.

The accomodation was very clean and the staff courteous. The location was ideal for our trips purpose.

Perhaps the lack of water pressure and hot water on the shower

A group of us girls stayed in the Watford Hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room very good value for money.
It is a stones throw from town and the main pubs and clubs! The hotel had a nice atmosphere. We would definately stay here again!

The only thing I would recommend is for the bathroom towels to be replaced-they seemed abit hard-fluffy white ones would be perfect!

My only complaint is that the street facing rooms are susceptible to a lot of outside noise. Air conditioning in the street facing rooms would prove to be a distinct advantage.
(3305354100)

The Hotel was fairly close to Watford town centre and not too far from the Watford Junction stataion. Room was clean and had all the facilities I require. Staff were pleasant, polite and helpful.

Since it was a very himid night, I had my windows open to try and get some air flow. Since my room (252) faces on to the street, I found my sleep being constantly interrupted by noisy revellers in the street. This went on and off from just after midnight until 5am. I did not get a lot of sleep.

The breakfast was very good and the staff were very pleasant, the room was basic as expected for the price, however my colleague stayed at a nearby hotel for slightly less, but had much better overall facilities. I would stay there again, but it would not be my 1st choice.

the staff were very profesional and friendly

With my room being on the ground floor, with little or no air conditioning I had to have the window open, this did not feel particularly safe and street noise was a problem for me.

The hotel was well situated witin Watford, I especially liked its close proximity to the town centre. The staff were friendly and accomodating. They seemed to have a good grasp of the Watford area and so were able to advise on travel directions.
The downside of the White House Hotel is the noise generated from other occupants (loud TV and creaking floors filter through the thin partition walls) which can upset sleeping.
Overall, my stay was excellent.
(3304927925)

Friendly staff and cleanliness of hotel.

Thin walls of bedrooms and creaking floors. Can be a pain when trying to get to sleep.

I stayed in what was supposed to be an executive double but there were no facilities that made me think it was anything special. The toiletries were basic - shampoo and body wash and a small bath towel. I stayed in the Best Western Queen Hotel last month and there were large towels and mouth wash and body lotion. The staff were very friendly though and I enjoyed the breakfast.
(3304690327)

It was convenient to town and the office I was working in. There was plenty of car parking spaces. Very nice staff.

The accommodation seemed dated. The furniture was crammed into the room and it was difficult to move the chair at the dressing table when getting in and out to dry my hair.

Convenience to city centre and football ground. Comfortable beds and pillows and excellent breakfast.

Nothing to dislike but there was a lot door banging from other guests when we were trying to sleep. Although this did not go on too late into the night.
