despite trip advisor reviews, i thought that the hotel was up to 4* standard in the UK and will stay again when/if the current economic climaye allows.

Hotel room was fine ,large and clean .However the wait to get into the dining room for breakfast was far too long (30mins!)Once in the
dining room at a table the wait for tea and coffee was ages .We never did get any toast !The poor service at breakfast really lets the hotel down ,and it was just because it was badly managed not busy.

Very spacious. The staff in the restaurant were most unhelpful. After sitting down for Dinner (Table booked at 21.00 we were not served or acknowleded until 21.30. This was after I attracted the waiters attention.The food was daibolically over cooked to the point of being burnt. I did complain but I should have saved my breath

The over-all staff were not cutomer friendly!

location perfect for our stop after our cruise, excellent facilities food and atmosphere lovely staff very helpful and friendly bed bed I have slept in for ages

The booking was straightforward. After making the original booking I had to change from Friday/Saturday nights to Thursday/Friday. I was able to do this through the hotel without any penalty. We were extremely pleased with our room, which overlooked Southamption harbour, with the quality of the breakfast that we had and particularly the very high standarard of service by all staff - as I indicate above. We were somewhat perplexed by the acknowledgement of the booking that we received through the post from the hotel as the standard of English was really quite poor. The hotel is well positioned and the only downside, from my point of view, is that it was only about five minutes walk from the main Southampton shopping centre. My wife thought this was a big plus. I usually book hotels on line and I would certainly hope to stay at this hotel again.

We were extremely impressed with the very high quality of service provided by all the staff at the hotel. There were no exceptions. We had a first rate stay.

Difficult to find something we did not like. I was rather surprised that the pool did not open until 08:00 at the weekend.

Good. BUT the small things make a huge difference. I do realise that every person has their own individual tastes and needs, so to cater for the minority can be difficult. I feel sure that most items that anyone would need, within reason, could be obtained upon request from the staff. I must reiterate I did find the staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Thank you.

staff very friendly and extremely helpful especially the concierge. Accomodation was adequate.

Cleanliness of the room. Silly little items to mention, such as tissue box was empty yet everything else was adequate. Found a couple of dead flies on bedside table upon retiring. Not a reason not to stay at this hotel again. Breakfast table not laid correctly, silly things as no butter on table, no bread knife etc. Had to ask for marmalade. Just the finer points to make it a more memorable stay.
