I chose this hotel for its proximity to Civic Hall. It is a no frills place but for what I required for only one nights bed, it was adequate although frezing temperature existed outside the bedroom.

I chose this hotel for its close proximity to Civic Hall and this indeed was the case. Also town centre.

Tne heating rail in the bathroom was not on. I mentioned this to a member of staff wbo said they were never on.
Outside of one's bedroom all rooms were bitterly cold. I appreciate rooms were very spacious but this is no excuse and heating should be of an adequate standard in all weather. The hotel was so cold I noticed the girl on reception was wearing a coat.

Just a nightmare the only reason we stayed was cos we arrived late and had plans for the evening.
(107753537)

Outdated decor, facilities ie tv very poor reception and remote control faulty. Door locks on the rooms diabolical. Bedding poor. No doors on the wardrobes. Curtains just holding up. Windows, drafty and rattling alnight. Bathroom (en suite) cleanliness poor and smelly. Plugs on the other side of the room to the attached mirror.

Upon arrival in the street level lobby my daughter and myself thought that we may have a problem. Having stayed twice for a single night this week...it's fair to say that our intitiall expectations we exceeded.

Very clean and well organised.
Very helpfull staff.
I understand that the building is due to be demolished in approx 12 months. Considering this I feel that the staff and management are doing a excellent job of keeping the buisness viable and not just waiting for the inevitable.

The building and ifrastructure have obveiously seen better days but the most is made of what there is.

The hotel looks 'tired', although clean, there was rust in the bathroom, the door to the bedroom was difficult to open, and we had to change rooms because of that and the toilet didn't flush very well.
(97158772)

The check in was fast and receptionist polite.

It wasn't worth £50 per night.

The hotel gave me the first impression that it should be demolished. the carpark is very poor and dark with access by the general public till the barrier was lowered about 5pm, the reception area was on the second floor with the foye open to any drunks etc to have a sleep in this area (although it may have been closed off later in the night im not sure). the hotel didnt really show any class whats so ever which seemed to be a shame and a blot on the image of this company that ran it, staff were helpful and polite, i was dissapointed with it, as it seemed to be owned by a large hotel chain that looked fairly impressive on the net page

I would have liked to have information about the night club, wehci if I had phoned then I could have made an informed decision. This information could have been made available for those like myself booking online.
I would also make sure that the bulk of this request can be submitted wiythout providing an answer to all of the questions or give a further option to the question. I have selected that I would NOT book again online, but that is not the truth, the response is that I may or I do not know. So you need to revise the questionaire.

Convenient for business and had excellent parking

The noise from a nearby night club was attrocious, and prevent sleep on Monday and Thursday night in particular. The Latter date, the noise abated at 03:00 and was then followed by what can only be described as drunken brawl/argument. Lifts when they worked were good, but on Monday and on Friday these did not function properly. The last day because of the high winds - which I do not comprehend.
Room 503 bathroom is jaded and showed signs of dampness. The water temperature in either on or off, with no thermostatic controls, which in this day and age is unprofessional and shows signs of neglect for the traveller.

It was close to the town centre and easy walking distance to where I wanted to be.

The drunks on Friday and Saturday night waiting in the hotel entrance area which opened on to a taxi pick up place and was not policed by hotel staff.

If there was to be a private function that weekend.
There was a wedding party in and they took over the lounge area and the staff had very little to no time for other guests. Dinner in the evening was not available except for a bar meal. Took along time to be served - was unable to provide me with a cup of coffee after the meal. No staff to make it.

One of the basic requirements I'd expect of any hotel is hot water. There was none available on Sunday morning for a shower at 7:30AM. When I brought this to the attention of your receptionist, I was advised that it was 'an old building' and there's never any hot water in the mornings. When I shared with her that this was the time most guests needed these facilities, she said there's nothing more she could do. - I can - I won't be staying at the Grosvenor again. In addition, given what we'd experienced during our stay, we had no confidence that breakfast was going to be any better, and at

The hotel is very shabby. The bar and breakfast room areas are ok but the entrance and the guest room were very old and battered. I have thrown out better furniture and the wallpaper was old and torn. However, the beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. Staff on the reception were indifferent. One was helpful, one was useless. Breakfast was however excellent - a huge buffet (shame there were only two of us there to eat it, in a room big enough for at least 100 people!)
