Warm, lots of hot water, a bath, great tea and coffee facilities, quiet.
Lovely grounds.

Room was a bit cramped. TV was small and old fashioned/not many channels. Check out at 10 a bit early compared to most hotels.

good for what was required

Clean and good facilties and proximity to The Grove Golf course excellent for event - beautiful grounds

With DeVerre chain the food available on site is always average / nice never great or brilliant - having stayed at De Verre Berkshire near The Berkshire Golf course this was a huge improvement and a pleasant surprise. Never fails to amaze me that they cannot bring all their chains n line to the Carrick up in Scotland - Cameron House which is marvellous ....

Staff very friendly and efficient

Room was quite small. Did not have a hair dryer or safe. Only one towel provided per person

Reason for visit was to attend a funeral ... facilities provided good distraction from sadness.

Good reception,// nice room - clean, quiet, en-suite etc., // decent bar facility, // good breakfast arrangement, // efficient check-out procedure.

Toilets some way distant from bar. (Not major criticism!)

Other than the small room comment a very enjoyable stay.

The location and the ambience of the public areas.

A little disappointed that the room altho adequate didn't have a feeling of true 'luxury'. Service in the restaurant was rather lacking (Sunday evening) as I had to wait about 15 mins before anyone appeared. Food was rather tasteless & bland.

Staff were very good.

Broken bathroom door lock and onelight not working. Obviously not checked daily. Difficult to locate hotel and actual name of hotel not shown clearly on web site. Was looking for group name not hotel name!@

The staff was very helpful. The checking in and checking out were easily achieved. Breakfast was good, as well. The hotel has a wonderful garden.

The room was far too small for a family with a small baby. It was also too hot day and night. Also the breakfast was served only between 7.00 to 9.00. In my opinion if you travel for leasure you definitely need more flexible schedule for breakfast.

My stay was fine. The hotel is really nice. Shame the pool isn't open later. The bed was really comfortable and the staff efficient apart from the fact tht I didn't get my alarm call when I asked for it.
I'd stay there again.

The room was clean and had good facilities. The bed was the most comfortable I've stayed in at any hotel and it was quiet.

The TV remote control didn't work which seems like a small thing but when you've worked hard all day and just want to relax infront of the TV it's annoying to have to keep getting out of bed.
I didn't get my alarm call. Luckily I woke up but I would worry next time about asking for one. The room was quite small for a double.

The view, the room was spotless, the bed comfortable, I felt very relaxed

More tea and milk
Julia from Bucks, GB (Family with older children) 23 May 2007
Room was so small the bed was pushed up against the wall so you had to clamber over the other person to get out of bed. Information regarding hotel facilities would have been useful, we had to call reception to find out when breakfast was served as we were not told when we checked in. Had to call reception for swimming pool opening times. Hotel could be great but it was the small things that are easy to rectify that let it down.

Good location, lovely gardens

Rooms very small, bathroom not that clean, breakfast disorganised and no tables ready, no-one helped. No hotel information in either room to say when breakfast was or what facilities were available in the hotel and the TV was very quiet and difficult to hear as the sound had been limited.
Anonymous (Solo business traveller) 21 May 2007
This hotel satisfied my need as an overnight stay, however I would think twice at a longer stay as there was a large conference/seminar on at the time this appeared to take up all of the room in the bar and restaurant.
it would have been better if the B&B guests could have used a separate area/room
(99108068)

the room was adequate

the hotel was a little disappointing as there were several seminars on during my stay the restaurant was not ideal for the lone traveler
Richard from Westcliff on Sea, GB (Young couple) 25 April 2007
We do lots of overnight stays and this was very enjoyable, we were lucky to get the 50% discount and this made it very competitive against the likes of Premier travel inn and Travel Lodge, however the facilities on offer made it much better value for money. We will certainly visit again as we are currently taking canal boat pilots licences and start from Abbots Langley. I recommend that you keep the prices competitive to fill the hotel.

The location was fantastic, we also enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi.

We were slightly disappointed that there was not a full menu and decided to eat out.

My stay at the hotel was relaxing and comfortable, the meals were good and the staff very friendly. A pool was a bonus and too be honest it was the deciding factor when choosing my hotel. Would definitely recommend it and will be using it again.
(3014193)

compact with everything that i needed, clean and comfortable

replacement of the shower tray in the swimming pool changing room, but apart from that minor issue, my stay at the hotel was brilliant.
