staff were very polite and very helpful. after a long journey the early occupation of room was very much appreciated, also the location of room 216 close to the central lift was ideal for my disabled husband.

in the private breakfast room the toaster was "on the blink". Bread had to be put into it three or four times to become "toast" and this caused quite a backlog.

Although the hotel was of a good standard the general ability of the staff and attaitude was not in keeping with the hotel. To be served tea with the tea bag still in the cup and biscuits thrown in afterwards in plastic shrink wraps was a bit more like a Litte Chef! (97945455)

The room that I was in didn't have enough natural daylight

were not able to check into room until nearly 4pm, despite being told over the phone we could check in at 1pm. Only one member of staff working on the bar despite there being two wedding parties arriving, and several other staff standing around looking bored. However, the wedding we attended was well managed. Little things let the overall impression down, poor quality of flower beds outside impressive entrance was a diappointing first impression, bath shower was not as sparkingly clean as we would have expected. No glasses and no complimentary water.

Clean tidy efficient

Overall our stay was unsatisfactory with both the room and general facilities falling below our expectations. The hotel appears to be targeted at business users attending one off conferences and seminars rather than regular leisure users who might want to book repeat stays. (2980346)

Attractive grounds and setting

Room facilities - we were staying in a superior grade room but it did not provide basic facilities including tea/coffee making facilities, water/mini-bar/shoe cleaning accessories etc. Also service was very poor, although we were attending a function, the bar had to be opened on request, no bar/waiting staff seemed to be available and the draught pumps were not connected leading to lengthy delays when ordering drinks. Staff also had little knowledge of the surrounding area and were unable to recommend local bars or restaurants to visit.

In general, we enjoyed our stay at Manor of Groves even though it was only a one night leisure break. We would like to come back to the hotel and take in a longer stay and use the facilities particularly golf. (2403221)

Generally a very enjoyable stay. We had lunch there and the food was well cooked and sufficient for our needs but there were too few vegetables in the main course. Also the hotel generally would be rather expensive for us for anything other than a one-night, bed-breakfast stay. However, breakfast was excellent and we could have as much as we wanted. (1917017)

Our room was obviously going through a period of upgrade- 1st night luke warm water,no satellite TV ,movies etc,soap dispensers both off the wall.No shaving point -I had to ring up and then get a key to another room (the other side of the Hotel) get changed before.
