Ideally located in Besancon. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful old building, just the type of hotel I dreamed of staying in when booking from Australia. Having car parking was appreciated.

It would have been good to have a tea/coffee making facility in our room. We weren't aware that some of the streets would be closed for the Saturday afternoon markets which did make it difficult to get to the Granville.

The hotel was very welcoming and friendly and was ideally situated for Besancon's centre which was within walking distance. Although we had an attic room with only a skyline view this made the room quiet and tranquil. (99031724)

The Citotel is a comfortable, friendly hotel in the heart of beautiful 'old' Besancon. La Citadelle, the old fort, has attractions for all ages and interests: from tigers and monkeys living in moats to an area devoted to the history of the French Resistance. I would recommend a visit. (3305522847)

I was very pleased with my stay. The staff is very pleasant and courteous and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff speaks excellent English. This is not always the case in France and is quite important - I've been at hotels where I couldn't even communicate with the desk to get help calling a cab or get basic information. Would definitely recommend this hotel, the only negative was that it is not as close to the train station as it says on the webbsite, it's a couple km away. I planned on walking but unless you travel with no luggage you will definitely need to plan on taking a taxi! (2216980)
