Good Location, Good Service

We were made to feel welcome from the outset with a warm genuine smile, and as other reviews stated nothing was too much trouble from the staff. To the extent that when staff realsied we were there to celebrate my girl friends birthday he decorated our rooom with greetings and a compliment bottle of red. We were made to feel we were not in a chain hotel, due to the little extras we received throughout our stay, and it was obvious ran by a lovely family. We can not wait to go again. If you want a hotel with mod cons swimming pool, gym, etc etc, dont stay here. However we loved it, for the personal service and all of the above. I would recommend to my friends and family, and definately stay again. (97205883)

Clean, Tidy, with a lot of history to the place, easily accessible to the beach.

There is always something to complain about, however small or large, or something missing, but on this instance after such a postive welcomed stay, these are not apparent or not worth noting.

the hotel offered just what I needed , super meals and confortable bed , the bar was cosy although i didn't care for the live music but saying that i did enjoy the wireless internet environment that gave me a chance to catch up on my work . for a 2 star hotel this one is well on top of the list , should be superior or at least 3 stars ! You will notice that I have only ticked fair for overall value for money. The reason for this has got nothing to do with the hotel performance. I do not know whether the other people in the hotel noticed it but there was a heavy presence of electromgnetic fields throughout my stay. Th source was most probably from outside but it still made sleep uncomfortable. My own observation shows that it had nothing to do with the hotel itself. I did notice this even outside the hotel. I do not know how people having a simple merry xmas break in a hotel offends the state, to the extent that the state has to intrude on their privacy! (3304066577)

The location of the hotel, close to the twon centre was helpful. The hotel provided a quiet and peaceful atmosphere on top of the excellent performance from the staff.

Overall this hotel was perfect for people who literally needed a clean room for a few nights and spent most of their time out and about. It is in an ideal location being just 2 minutes from the seafront, town and old village. I do, however, believe that the hotel catered more for older people and there was no entertainment in the evening...although we did go out of season!! Our party had three rooms, all of which I would describe as lived in. Although not in a poor state of repair, they were all slightly shabby, though they were clean. Attention to detail is the key to a successful hotel, and the small things such as the heating control on the shower did not work, fortunately it was stuck on hot and not cold!! We returned from our evening out at about five to midnight to find the bar locked up and no one about to serve us a drink. All in all, 5/10 more £40 per room rather than £65 (2651272)
