The room was very dated, not very clean and as basic as they come. Very disaapointed and not worth the money. It was a dump. (97405687)

negative comments The room was shocking!! Romm 532

This is a low-cost business rep hotel so don't go looking for a Hilton style of decore. In those terms, for the cost, which included dinner, bed and breakfast this represented excellent value. The food was of a good standard and plenty of vegetarian choice which made it excellent for me. I would use it again for business meetings in Reading. (97550379)

positive comments Very good value for money for the dinner, bed and breakfast option with a wide choice on the menu. Plus wi-fi was useful. Staff mostly local university students and fun.

I can confidently recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Reading. The online booking process was very user friendly and faultless. The location benefits from very easy access, and crucially for me, parking - so many of the hotels in Reading do not have adequate parking facilities. Its site next to the river is beautiful, and despite the busy main road the interior of the hotel is very quiet. It is within very easy walking distance of the Reading centre - the station is only a 10 minute walk away and the London Road university site can be reached on foot within 30 minutes at a reasonable pace. I cannot comment on the leisure facility as this was closed for re-furbishment, but if it meets the standards reached by the rest of the hotel, I am sure it too will be superb. The staff were extremely polite and efficient, the breakfast was excellent, the room was extremely comfortable, quiet and warm (with the biggest double bed I have ever seen) and I would have no hesitation in staying here again. positive comments Everthing about this accommodation was excellent. The room was large, well presented, very comfortable, quiet, and warm. The bathroom had plenty of towels, guest products and tons of hot water.
negative comments There was nothing at all you could possibly dislike about this accommodation. The only tiny little observation would be that there was only 2 packets of coffee, which meant that if we had a coffee at night, there was none for the morning before breakfast, but this is really a personal thing and hardly a criticism.

I would not use this Hotel again. (99875372)

negative comments The room was not that clean and the carpet didnt look like it had been cleaned. The hotel is in desperate need of modernization as there is not real modern shower, just a tap connected one and the windows were very old and did not block enough outside noise. Also thre seems to be a problem with their pipe work as radiators and water pipes seemed to make a large amount of noise, even if the room next door was making use of the bath etc.

This was exactly as I expected, and I just paid for the room overnight which is what I wanted. The website was informative and explanatory. (99080439)

positive comments I found it easy to book on-line, staff were polite, and the room was very good. I liked the fact that I could book a room overnight without breakfast

Good value for money, booking online cut the price a lot... and dinner was included. (99852681)

positive comments Not too far from town centre, and in a character property.
negative comments The room did not smell totally fresh.

positive comments It was close to a bus connection and was reasonably priced.
negative comments The residents bar was never open after midnight, usually the point of a residents bar is to be open when others are closed.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and will certainly consider your hotel again. (99698166)

positive comments I liked the idea of the flat - with facilities to cook for yourself and being self contained.

Wanted one night stopver for my son and I attending a conference - this hotel was ideal - very good value for money, impressive building and good accommodation. Comfortable bar and restaurant, close enough to Town Centre. Very helpful staff. (3305212804)

positive comments Very good value for money; friendly and efficient staff
negative comments minor fittings not working - shower control, shaving light

The room rate was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful, but the bathroom was far too narrow to contain both the bath and the toilet - it was not possible to sit upright on the toilet because it was squashed between the bath and the wall. (3304902100)

positive comments Location - near daughter's hall of residence
negative comments Bathroom was far, far too small.

positive comments A pretty normal standard of accommodation for this type of hotel, however the stay was helped by having a good breakfast and friendly, helpful staff who managed to assist in some complicated accommodation requirement alterations half way through the stay.
negative comments The night porter wasn't particularly halpful when we tried to get some additional bedding having returned to the hotel at around midnight.

The food in the bar was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Ok it was a very hot night and air con would have been lovely but his is a luxury not expected with such competitive prices and the windows opened fully for a breeze anyway. Impressed there was a set vegitarian breakfast, this makes a nice change! (2387289)

positive comments Dinner, B & B package great value. Nicely decorated and althought the bathroom was stepped to make use of all available space it was more than adequate and quite fun!
negative comments My pillow was near the end of its comfortable life! A shelf in the bathroom by the mirror would have been nice to spread out onto as only had the sink to balance toiletries or the floor
