The Brasserie was very good. A friendly nice place with good food ata sensible price.

The steps at the front of the hotel were a big drawback, especxially to older people. There was no lift inside and no porter to carry our bags to our room.

Excellent
(107749181)

Quiet, clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and good service. Beautiful gardens.

Only one-an empty bottle instead of a full one of water. Maybe a lift would have made it easier for the elderly.

Very pleasant stay in relaxed friendly atmosphere
(107935692)

Good Health Club facilities - good size pool - spa pool automatically started up - good temperature
Very efficient energy saving devices in evidence- corridor lights - room electrics only on when key in slot
Really nice toiletries in bathroom - sensibly fixed to wall not take away freebies which are so wasteful
Very attractive patio/ garden area

Disappointing that steam room was out of order
Anonymous (Group of work colleagues) 04 June 2008
Was pleasant enough, provided for my basic needs. a little expensive for what was on offer.
(97501778)

bottled water in room, and chocolate biscuits. Nice bathroom.

limited choice of breakfast, rooms a bit dawdy! dark corridors.

steps up to reception. Room cold on arrival. Duvet like a slab and pillows also. Shower panel awkward with little access to the taps and the soap dispenser in an inconvenient position. Toast bread very thin and I did not like the metal teapots.
Uncomfortable seats in the bar area and no tv in the main part of the hotel.
Leisure area very good.

The staff were very pleasant and the parking was convenient to the entrance

Everything was clean and fittings were to a good standard. All food was excellent, particularly in Icon restaurant

Forgotten wake up call and a bath plug that was broken.

Lovely setting good quality bar meals and breakfast. Very helpful and pleasant staff. generally well appointed health suite.

pool showers were hard to use (very short bursts of water) and we seemed to be allergic to the chemicals in the jaccuzzi.
Anonymous (Mature couple) 05 July 2007
Our first impression of the hotel was that it was very busy this being due to the weddings that were taking place that day.
We checked in and found our room after having transverse several corridors which smelt of

Bad smells in the corridors

I would have liked to have been given the option to select a room in the new wing, which is quieter and more modern, even if more expensive.
That said, the room (203) was very acceptable, but the hairdriers need to be changed.....totally ineffective!
I will definately stay here again.
(99166357)

Spacious, bright and very clean rooms. Bed linen and towels changed daily.Extrememly polite and helpful staff

Food in the bar was overpriced and disappointing.

This is a pleasant building. Quite well ventilated. The rooms are light and reasonably spacious - even though I was staying alone. The staff were courteous. The swimming pool is a good and a very welcome extra. It is good to be able to swim from 6.30 am. The breakfast is pretty good, especially the nuts and dried fruit.
Some unfortunate detail prevented the stay from being described as good:doors were locked when I arrived at 11.20pm. Despite being reassured there would be someone there when I rang at 9.45 to advise I would be late. The intercom put me through to an answerphone!
I had to bang on the glass front doors until some guests in the bar heard me some 15 minutes later. There was a profuse apology.
(99476556)

Airy room. Clean. Swimming pool. Service at breakfast.

Took me 20 minutes to get in to the hotel as doors were locked.
The poached egg with the smoked haddock was like a bullet. Sent back and replacement was fine. wholemeal bread was horrible wet sliced and not wholemeal. I ordered a newspaper on Saturday morning when booking on the net. No record of this on Monday morning and no paper.

We were very impressed with the standards and service at the hotel. We will not hesitate to book in for a second visit. The staff were extremely presentable and very helpful. Overall our stay at the Manor hotel was very pleasurable I would nt hesitate to recommend.

The spacious and quiet rooms

The smell of cooked food when we returned to have a drink in the evening. No room to relax and enjoy a quiet drink away from the restaurant.

I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
Many Thanks.

The quiteness of the hotel location. The pleasant and polite staff.

The TV is under the mirror!! Obviously a bloke put it there. My girlfriend had to move it to use the mirror.

I think the charge rates for the room we received were too high and the service received from some of the staff was not acceptable.
(3304968676)

Good grounds; buffet at disco on evening ok; breakfast ok; restaurant staff very helpful..

Room was of a poor quality; double bed small; hotel not very clean; hotel expensive for what you get in return; night staff very unhelpful and basically useless, couldn't even get us 2 bottles of water.
PETER from CANNOCK, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 13 July 2006

ANN from EDINBURGH, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 31 May 2006
We would have liked to choose the times we ate dinner ourselves although we were able to change at reception. There were two weddings being held on the Saturday and we had to put up with foul language whilst eating our evening meal in the Bar area. (We were going to a surprise party and unfortunately had to eat early and this was the only area we could do this)so it might have been nice to have been told what to expect with guests using bar areas etc.
(3304519588)

Bedroom and bathroom facilities were excellent

Hotel rooms are always so hot and with just a duvet it wasn't possible to sleep with just a sheet. Pillows were cheap and cheery no support what so ever.
Anonymous (Young couple) 24 May 2006
the fire alarm went off three times on the first night - we received no apology or discount although our stay that night was very uncomfortable and the lack of sleep meant we could not fully enjoy what was meant to be a relaxing weekend break.

KENNETH T from NORTHAMPTON, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 06 March 2006
Staff were friendly and efficient but room we occupied was in need of some work . Whilst supposedly a non smoking room it was evident that smoking had taken place. Hotel was almost empty on the Sunday evening that we were there , perhaps as a result of the cost which did not represent good value for money . Having lived in the area some years ago it did not match the standards that I remembered.

This hotel made our weekend extra special. We really enjoyed all aspects - gym, swimming, food and room. My daughter even preferred her tomato tian (which she was not going to eat until persuaded to try)to her side order of chips which she forgot about till the end! Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Bill correct - quite unusual these days. Will be sure to come back.

The room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Leisure facilities good with a nice pool plus sauna and steam room.

As others have written, it would have been nice to have had a double quilt instead of two singles.
Robert from Guildford, United Kingdom;GB (Solo business traveller) 21 February 2006
This is a good hotel with good facilities. I have stayed here before. This service on this visit was not up to past standards. For example at breakfast the experienced staff just left the trainees to do mos of the work with slow and uncertain service.

Overall, our stay was good, comfortable and enjoyable. Our main reason for our stay was to go to beverly for the night and the hotel was a nice place to stay and a distance to travel to.
(3304164750)

The room was a good size, and the bathroom facilities were good, also the breakfast was good, and at a resonable time in the morning

I thought the exterior aesthetics of the hotel differed to that on the website, the main picture was of the back of the manor which you don't see on arrival.
