I was asked for a credit card to secure the booking online. The system accepted American Express but this was not an acceptable method of payment at check out. The Bridge Cafe was good for breakfast but I thought the dinner selection (haute cuisine) was very limited and overpriced. I would stay again but eat out at one of the many restaurants in the immediate area. (97181169)

The hotel was the best location in Bristol and probably surrounding areas. Bristol has plenty to offer the tourist and leisure visitor and we will definitely return, both to the City and to this hotel (99970062)

Unfortunately temporary scaffolding outside bedroom window impaired the fantastic view but room upgrade given f.o.c. to compensate

i liked the view from the hotel and relaxed atsmosphere. the rooms were spacious

the linen on the beds had holes in it and were fading and really should been updgraded to new ones.

The hotel had parking a big plus in Bristol.Also good restaurant in hotel with an adjoining pub with a big screen good for watching big matches on.Hotel located in good position to walk into Clifton for shopping or restaurants.Great terrace at hotel to have lunch/dinner on in the summer,, with fantastic views.Breakfast worth having aswell.Overall i think reasonable value,and staff very helpfull. The room we were first given had damp in the corner,so we asked to be moved which the receptionist organised with no problems.The room was clean,large and pleasant.

Damp in the first room it smelt damp.only one receptionist on the desk to check out with on Sunday am when 4 people were wanting to settle their accounts

Well presented hotel, a half hour walk from Harbourside (where the festival takes place). The hotel terrace faces Clifton Suspension Bridge - lovely view. Great breakfast and helpful, professional staff. (3304974852)

This hotel is clearly currently undergoing a makeover so things are rather patchy. Overall, however, it was a very comfortable and convenient place to stay. We had a room on the Gorge side so there was a terrific view, On the down side, the bathroom desperately needs refurbishment and in particular the secondary glazing needs replacing in order to stop the draft and the wind howling! See my comments above about not being asked preference about smoking. Myself and Partner are none smoking and this nearlt ruined my evening, I was not able to stay in the room all night as I found the smell unpleasent. (3304381072)

The location and views

I was not asked weather I preferred a smoking or none smoking room. So when I got a smoking one that could not be altered I was very disappointed.
