negative comments Could provide tea, coffee etc in room as there is a kitchenette in each room. move a mirror need a plug point, for drying hair etc

Overall good value for money, although could have been a bit cleaner, needs a bit of refurbishment. (107807899)

positive comments Helpful staff, nice location, kitchenette handy.
negative comments Room could do with a bit of a clean, cobwebs over bed, room had bunk beds in corridor, not really suitable for 4 adults, this should have been mentioned on internet. If kitchenette provided, some cutlery would have helped.

Good for one or two nights. Might not be so good for a week or more. Would come back again for a similar stay. Good value for money. (99953299)

positive comments Amenities and room were basic, but well maintained, clean, with friendly staff. A handy base for a budget stay and a pleasant 20 minute walk to Le Touquet centre.
negative comments Looks as if it's popular with school parties. There was one there when we stayed, so worth asking for a quiet room. We did and we were in the wing away from the kids, where it was remarkably quiet.

positive comments Parking no problem, walk into town OK, clean, polite staff. Good size room.
negative comments Couple of the fixtures & fittings could do with attention.

Alexandra from Bishops Stortford, GB (Family with older children) 17 June 2008

Helpful - staff who can speak English, which is good if you are unable to speak French (we try and we learn a little more with each visit). We like this hotel - it is lovely. (97928993)

positive comments Lovely location, clean, good value. Nice studio layout. Our little boy liked the bunk beds.
negative comments No bad points - we have visted on 3 previous occasions and will definately visit again. Some people might be disturbed by the light aircraft noise as the small local airport is nearby - but we dont think it is a problem.

The overall accomodation was very well presented. The room was very clean, spacious and well equipped and suitable for young children. The games area downstairs although quite small was a godsend when the children (boys aged 7 and 3) got restless.Breakfast was continental style and catered for all our needs including a fussy 7yr old. Overall a very pleasant stay and one which we are already thinking of repeating in the summer. (97912169)

positive comments The room was very clean and spacious which was very handy with young children.it was well equipped for a studio appartment and for the price.
negative comments We didn't find anything to dislike

The hotel is not centrally located but this means it is more peaceful than the hotels in the town and in a pretty woodland location. It only takes about 15 minutes to walk to the centre, passing some very nice shops and restaurants along the way. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are adequately furnished and very clean. One small thing to note is that the only mirrors are located in the bathroom so putting make up on became a little difficult if someone was using the shower. Also, the nearest socket for a hairdryer is in the alcove where the bunk beds are so a hand held mirror might be a good thing to take. (97730860)

positive comments Pretty location / cleanliness / friendliness.

The Hippotel is an excellent base for a quick weekend or night in France. The rooms are basic but are clean, heated and have a small kitchenette and separate bathroom and loo. They sleep up to 4 with bunkbeds in the hallway allowing families not to have to book 2 rooms. Breakfasts are self service and plentiful with always an unhurried pace. The hotel is signposted from the entrnce of Le Touquet and is in a quiet area of the town, we have even stayed when school parties have been booked and have still found it to be a quiet, basic, good nights sleep (97899653)

positive comments clean, comfortable and rooms for 4 people

negative comments Check out time is 10:00, which is quite early especially on a Sunday!

We were only using the hotel as an overnight stay but were very disappointed about the quality and would like to have known the type of hotel it is, and that it was not possible to have an evening meal in reasonable surroundings. (99401889)

positive comments Access and availability of parking
negative comments The hotel is geared to dealing with younger groups (school children). The shower in our room did not work + there was a strong smell of fish (obviously what previous occupants had cooked).

The hotel was exactly as the website had described it, and the various reviews that I read. The hotel is functional, and does cater for large school groups, so can be noisy in the mornings. There was a discrepancy between check out time stated on the website (1100) and the printed card in the room (1000). However we checked out at 1030 with no problems. The hotel is in a good location and away from the town. We had no problems with the walk into town. For the price paid for a quadruple room (3 adults and 1 child), and the nature of the hotel, I would say that it is good value. (99496181)

positive comments Hotel was functional, and in a good location. Nice surrounds, and everything was clean.

We stayed here 7 years ago and had good memories. But like all good things it is never the same going back.In seven years we would like to think our expectations would be heightened but we were very disappointed with the basic accommodation which seemed to go back to Hi De Hi days with the request of can we have some cutlery and a remote for the TV. The location of this place is amazing and if this hotel were managed differently then our aspirations would have been gratified, This Hotel could easily be upgraded to a 3* with foresight and vision and not relying on past impressions. (3305012720)

positive comments Beautiful surroundings and location
negative comments Poor quality furnishings, floor covering and furniture and lack of furniture, small bathroom, no lift, no help with luggage,Timed light switches in dark corridors. cheap basic accommodation that wasnt that cheap.Would have left if we had not already paid.

Very peaceful area. However we did notice a riffle rang very close to the hotel but fortunately we didn't hear a thing. Lovely Restaurant near hotel. Nice walk into town or beach. You can hire a bike in the town. (3304652233)

positive comments Situated in a very picturesque area.
negative comments Would have liked to have a kettle in the room. Towels inadequate need to take your own.

I thought we were booking a normal hotel room, but this was more of an appartment. I didn't like having a kitchenette in the bedroom, and it was in desperate need of modernisation. Saying that, it was good value for money and set in a lovely location. (3304591957)

positive comments Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a lovely lovation.
negative comments It was in desperate need of modernisation, the bedrooms needed a facelift, the shower didn't work properly, overall it was a bit shabby and in need of some TLC.
