Not worth the money and the staff should make an effort to understand the customer comes first especially when they are paying a premium rate! (107134356)
So relaxing and we were made to feel like royalty (107203064)

A return visit to an old favourite which has fairly recently been bought by the Najeti Group. Renovation work in the main chateau is still in progress, yet the overall character and simplicity of this fine hotel remains essentially unchanged. Service was very good, with many of the 'old guard' still very much in evidence. Stylish relaxation is what this Hotel has to offer, in essence. (99988236)
Classy hotel for a wonderful break away. Excellent resaturant. For longer stays, wondering why they have no swimming pool/spa centre? (99809591)
very good will definatly be returning and will use these hotels again for future longer stays (99486574)

We stayed in the pavilion, across the courtyard from the chateau. Rooms were large, modern but a little tired, with a glass sliding door opening on to a balcony overlooking the gardens and lake. We requested two rooms next to each other (our children are 10 and 11 years old) but were given rooms a little further apart. The restaurant was very good. Two fixed price menus and children choose from the same menus for a lesser price. Children need to be quite adventurous as the choice is from menus offering classic french cuisine. Very good selection of wine and a small shop where you can buy most of the wines on the menu. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, no fridge and the bottle of water on the dressing table is not complimentary! But the rooms are clean and comfortable although the carpet in our room was stained. The walls between the rooms are not very thick and you can hear people murmuring and moving around. Tennis, boules and a giant outdoor chess set occupied our children and you can also borrow bikes to explore surrounding countryside. Peacocks and their chicks, geese and a lone black cockerel wander through the gardens. There is a marked-out walk through the gardens and woodland around the lake. The chateau is in a rural, quiet and pretty setting, with St Omer close by and the beaches of Boulogne and St Touquet within easy reach. We had a lovely weekend at Chateau Tilques and will return.
