Best Western Hotel Orchidee

Very hard to fing Hotel due to roadworks. Initial impression spoilt by being allocated a room which had not been serviced - and than given a replacement room which also had not been serviced. (97393912)

Overall a very nice modern hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Bedroom and bathroom accommodation was good with an excellent walk-in shower. Quality of buffet breakfast was good and plenty of it. The position of the hotel is very convenient with Bruges and Gent just a short drive away and there is plenty of free parking just outside the hotel. If you want to eat out in the evening there are a number of restaurants just a five minutes walk away. The only downside at the moment are the roadworks on the adjacent N44 dual carriageway which prevents direct access to the hotel without going through Aalter. You will need to telephone the hotel reception for current directions before you go. (97554133)

Very convenient position. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice large bedroom and bathroom with excellent walk-in shower. Good selection of food for breakfast and plenty of it.

Would have liked some of the bedroom furniture to have drawers in them.

Far below the quality you would expect from a four stars hotel. A very poor value for money. The inside of the hotel looks like an hospital.Rooms with a view on the cemetery and the speedway and no heating working. No staff except the receptionist who was nice but obviously couldn't cope at the same time with managing the reception desk, the bar and breakfast room. At 9h30 am there was nearly no food left and only half a jug of cool coffee available. We had to go to the reception to ask for some orange juice which we had to collect ourselves from the service lift! (99918519)

Easy access from motorway. The hotel is very clean as it has just opened.

Reception desk and bar are one single area. As a result, on entering the hotel it smells like cigarettes smoke and beer. One single person was acting as receptionist, barman and waiter in the evening as well as in the morning. Rooms are really gloomy, and the view doesn't help: cemetery and speedway is all you can see from the windows. Room was freezing cold, heating did not work. We tried another one and had the same problem again. Breakfast was really poor, at 9:30 am there were no orange juice nor croissants left and only half a plate of cheese and ham was available. Any two stars hotel is doing better and charging much less
