Too close to the train station, you can hear the trains passing in the night. Considering the location the hotel should have invested in double windows. The interior is also devoid of any sound-proofing, you can hear the neighbors breethe. The beds and the linen are of the cheapest quality. The place is clearly understaffed. The same person is serving breakfast and simultaneously staffing the front desk.

I loved the location and felt it was an extremely good bargain. The town of Blois is lovely and St Jacques is a perfect location to see the most important sights of the town without having to drive. It's within a few steps of the train station which might bother some with the train noise but I didn't hear the trains after I fell asleep. The hotel is very clean throughout. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to assure a pleasant stay. (3304920848)

Parking nearby is limited, although had been led to believe this would be readily available. Problem leaving early morning as door locked. Despite claiming to have cheap rooms (30 Euros double sans douche)this was denied at reception. Remote control on TV not working, and only had French channels. Our stay was good and what we had expected in accommodation at this price. It was not luxury and the train noise was perhaps more than we had been prepared for when we booked some months ago. Also the lack of anywhere to store clothes was a minor disappointment on arrival, given the length of our stay. Nevertheless this did not detract from a pleasant stay in Blois, with all facilities and the town centre with its countless restaurants very close to hand. For anyone staying for any length of time we recommend buying the 10 euro weekly parking ticket which covers all on-street parking close to the hotel for 7 days. (2325174)

Clean and very good value for money. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Power failure (for the whole hotel) was quickly and efficiently dealt with.

Insgesamt fand ich den Aufenthalt shr angenehm.Besonders möchte ich den unermüdlichen Einsatz der einen Frau hervorheben, die immer ein freundliches Wort hatte, von früh bis spät und auch so lange gearbeitet hatte.Nachteilig fand ich die Bahnhofsnähe und das Durchfahren der Züge,an welches man sich sicher gewöhnen kann. We were in Blois only one night; this hotel was easy to find, easy to check into, easy to use as a base to walk to restaurants and to explore the city a bit the next morning. Very good experience. In response to other reviews on line, the train station is close and we did hear trains passing by, but it did not disturb us. I personally like the sound of trains. (2127151)

Good room, good location.

The hotel was a really good place to stay in if you do not wish to travel too far from the station with your luggage. A supermarket can also be found within walking distance. However, due to the close proximity to the station, trains and announcements from the station can be heard most of the time. This might prove a challenge to those who are light sleepers. the room was nice and really close to the train station which made it a very convenient place to stay. it is also a short walk to the city centre and the castle.

Hotel was better than expected, but a little awkward to pass other guests on the spiral staircase. the room we had was directly opposite the railway station and therefore a bit noisy but we expected that. Overall I would certainly say it was value for money. Mrs H Gibb (2400927)

The Hotel St. Jacques was a good value. For a one star hotel the staff was helpful and friendly. I would have liked to have known how early everything closed in Blois when I book the room. I also would have liked to know that the train station was directly across from the hotel, our room was noisy. Other than the train noise at night, the place was a good value for a family. The breakfast was good, although on the website it advertised full English breakfast however we were served a continental breakfast which was quite good. (1989646)

Good value for the money. Good location - a short walk to downtown. Pleasant staff, comfortable beds. The only complaint was the small bathroom. The toilet was so close to the shower that the seat touched it and it was not possible to sit straight on the toilet seat. When sitting on the toilet my knees were under the sink and it was difficult to maneuver into the small space. I hope that not all the rooms had the same problem! We were in the family room for four people. Overall, a pleasant stay. I recommend this hotel and would stay there again, except I would try a different type of room. (2007583)
