The proprietor and his family, who run the hotel, were absolutely charming. They are also bilingual English/French, which would be a big help to those guests who do not speak French. The route to the hotel is well sign-posted, but it is nearer to Dame Marie les Bois, than to Cangey. The restaurant was very good, mainly French cuisine, with excellent ingredients. The best value Menu (at 28 Euros) was reasonable value, but if one pushed the boat out on wine, coffee and extras, or took the more expensive Menu (or went a la carte) things could get pricey. We loved everything about this hotel. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms off the main hotel were PERFECT for families with young children, the facilities were warm and welcoming. We especially loved the fact the owners were the ones we had constant contact with. It really is a change from the usual. They have thought of every touch to make it an enjoyable and memorable visit. We can't wait to come back!!

We couldn't have asked for a more delightful stay. The hotel staff was always willing to go the extra mile. The dinners were wonderful (if anything, there was too much food). The accommodations were lovely and clean -- and it was so quiet in the countryside. The best part was the pond with the bullfrogs! (2117250)

Overall we had an enjoyable stay, made especially pleasant by the well rehearsed courteous family management team where no request unsettled them. Few hotels that claim to welcome families truly cater for their needs, this one does from room accommodation to mealtime organisation and general care and attention to detail, truly good hosts. Reataurants of this quality that cater/welcome children are rare, even the childrens menu items are fresh and not processed ingredients. Wholly recommend the hotel (1938483)
